Movie Reviews of Get Ready: Definitive Performances 1965-1972 [DVD] - The TemptationsMovie Review: Best of the Temps Performances Summary: 5 StarsThis DVD is great for people like me who know the music but missed out on the live performances (because I didn't exist yet!). I am now a huge fan of the original Temps. I think my favorite would have been Eddie Kendrick. He was so suave and smooth. Melvin was a great dancer with those pigeon toes and bow-legs. They all had beautiful voices. Now when I hear a Temps song, I can picture the dance routine and those precision moves. I will treasure this DVD forever.
Movie Review: Emporers of Soul Summary: 4 StarsThis DVD is good in that it presents performances of the original Temps, who are sometimes forgotten due to the many personnel changes over the years. Having the opportunity to view the originals performing many of their hits makes this special. The Temptations are absolutely great! The downside to this DVD is the narration, provided by Otis Williams, which precedes each song. For most avid Temptation fans, his narratives provided little information that was unknown, so could have been eliminated in exchange for more performances. Also, I expected some live performances since I am too young to have enjoyed the original Temptations. Overall, this DVD is worth purchasing.
Movie Review: The Temptations Summary: 5 StarsI love the Temptations and this dvd is wonderful, have watched it over and over. Thank you
Movie Review: I love the Temptations Summary: 4 StarsI love this video. The Temptations is one of my favorite all time musical groups. I just love all the old songs, "Just my Imagination", "My Girl", etc. I miss all the original group members, Eddie Kendrick and Paul Williams were my favorites. I even watch the movie everytime it comes on television. It was nice taking a stroll back in time.
Movie Review: SUPER BAD Summary: 5 StarsGOOD TO HAVE FOOTAGE ON THE ORIGINAL TEMPTATIONS. THIS IS ONE YOU CAN LOOK AT OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
