Movie Review: the fog of war
Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent short series from HBO with a terrific cast. A couple of the guys play either themselves or a fictional Marine which speaks well of the general accuracy of the piece. The brutality of war, the confusion of this particular war (the invasion of Iraq), the brotherhood of men in combat -- all are well depicted and depicted pretty much without rose-colored glasses. These are Marines, not shiny perfect heroes. I recommend this series very highly.Movie Review: VERY realistic.

If you can spare the coin, definitely pick up this set. As a former Marine myself, it captures better than any series or movie on Marines I have previously seen, the emotions and interaction of Marines in combat and while at ease. The language used, while crude to some, only made me smile as I could close my eyes and recall the time I served. If you want a taste of what it's like to be around the greatest group of fighting men on Earth, pick up this set.Movie Review: Generation Kill

This is the most authentic Marine movie/TV production I've ever seen. Captain America is a little over the top and unrealistic but the SgtMaj makes up for it. Filled with lots of one-liners, wise-cracks, day-to-day lingo that takes me back. May be hard to follow the jargon at times if you're unfamiliar with it. The interview with the real-life Marines the story was based on is definitely worth watching also. Five stars!Movie Review: Su-perb!

Lyrical, believable and grand-story-telling writing, stellar performances, realistic settings, true-life props. I loved it so much when I saw it broadcast on HBO that I told every I know about it and had to buy a copy of the dvds for myself to watch over & over again. I've been screening it for friends this weekend and still just as excited about this mini-series as the first time. A MUST buy for fans of this genre!Movie Review: Best DVD Set since Band of Brothers
