Movie Review: Semper Fi
Summary: 5 Stars
Generation Kill was first presented on HBO. If you're looking for combat, this isn't the movie for you. A Company of Marines is assigned to different tasks in the Bagdad area. Life inside this company shows the incompetence of many of the Officers. It also depicts another reason why the US should not be in Bagdad. One memorial line by a Marine as an Iraqi is killed, "Too bad, he would have loved democracy". And another by a female asking the NCO, "Why are you destroying our country?" The story was taken from the notes of a reported bedded with the Marines, so it is non-fiction.Movie Review: Finally something that resembles the real thing * * * * *

This HBO series is unbelievable. It captured the true meaning of being in the military. The political internal battle is captured with great affects. The series reflects the bond soldiers build with each other that no civilian can EVER experience. This is way we bond for a lifetime and fight for our country. This is the military and a warrior in action on every level.
The writers, producers and actors did an outstanding performance in capturing the truth.

Movie Review: AMAZING!!!

Just got done watching eps. 1-6. Can't wait for the final show. CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THIS COMES AVAIL.ON DVD. I will be in line for a copy. After episode 6 I was so hooked that I went on to watch all of the footage shows on HBO regarding the real Marines, the filming in Africa, about the writer, etc... I'm hooked. Yes, it's brutal, yes, it's very frank, and yes, it's sometimes hilarious... just like life. Huge props for these amazing men and to the man who brought their story to us.

AWESOME!!!!!! I CAN SAY BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT. THIS IS THE MOST ACCURATE SERIES OF IRAQ I'VE EVER SEEN. THERE EVERYDAY PROBLEMS ARE STILL FELT TODAY. I HAVE JUST RETURNED HOME AND HEARD ABOUT THIS SHOW FROM A FRIEND. NOW 16 OF MY FRIENDS SEE WHAT WE WENT THREW DRIVING CONVOYS UP AND DOWN IRAQ. MY HEART FELL WHEN I SAW HOW THESE MEN JOKED,SANG,EAT,BITCHED AND HAD EACH OTHERS BACKS IT BROUGHT BACK MEMORIES. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL HER VETS. The characters are wonderfully pieced together, the dialogue is what you would expect and the emotions and insights which are represented are truly real.
In one scene there is a close up of the "reporters" face as they are about to get ambushed... no words, merely expressions.
This is what boots on the ground truly looks like, not that glamourous.
