Movie Reviews of Generation Kill

Movie Review: Great show... for everyone.
Summary: 5 Stars

This show is fantastic, gritty, scary, funny, shocking and all the other adjectives used to desribe it in other reviews. However, you don't have to be in the military or a vet to appreciate it. Basically, if you liked shows like Band of Brothers and Over There, you will love this. It's a very real picture of what has gone on in the middle east on the presonal level, not the political. It's entertaining in an sociological and educational way, along with just being a great show. And, once again, it doesn't require having a past experience of shooting at brown or yellow people.

Simply Fudge, or is it Silly Fun, no wait it's Semper Fi, there, now I can enjoy this show... actually I like fudge better.

SEMPER FUDGE!

Movie Review: This. Movie. Rocks.
Summary: 5 Stars

I've watched this movie to death and I still find something new and compelling about it. Once you get to know these characters, you almost feel like you're in thick with them. Oddly, it's the radio chatter that occurs before and after every episode that I enjoy the most.

I think most of the five and four star reviews say it all if you are interested in buying this movie. But be warned. Like I posted elsewhere, these ain't the Boy Scouts. If you are sensitive to men using excessive foul language, reading porn mags, and spewing homoerotic rhetoric, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. I certainly wouldn't advise it for children. Plus there is all the gore that is to be expected of war.

LOVE this movie.

Movie Review: Amazing series very realistic
Summary: 5 Stars

I started watching this series because of Alexander skarsgard from True Blood. But then I ended up becoming a big fan of the show itself. I generally hate war movies, because they are usually gruesome and just too much violence for my taste. But I found this series very very realistic, showing the real problems of the Marines, like lack of batteries! I always imagined Americans always had the best equipment at hand etc.
Also the series does not take a stand on the war which I like. All the cast have acted really well, and sometimes it is really funny too. I watched this on On Demand from comcast, but I will buy the DVD. Its definitely worth it.

Movie Review: A must-watch for military enthusiasts
Summary: 5 Stars

Its not often that I find movies or television series that strive to play things as realistically as this series has. So naturally I was excited when I read about this series online and being someone interested in the military it was something I couldn't pass up, and it didn't disappoint.

What I liked most was the brutal honesty, no bias just telling it like it is, a rarity in today's media. Also the fact that one of the actual marines that the series follows played himself, which only adds to the credibility of the material.

Two thumbs up, and if I had a third that would be up too.

Movie Review: Most realistic portrayal of Recon Marine life
Summary: 5 Stars

Watching this phenominal series is the closest a civillian could come to experiencing what it is really like in USMC Recon. Surprisingly accurate down to the language, attitudes and daily struggles, as well as the equipment and procedures, and was not made more pallatable to the inexperienced by dumbing-it-down as is done in most movies portraying this sort of subject matter. Brad Colbert was a good friend of mine in 3rd Recon in 96-98; we went through early recon training together. There is insight to be gained by watching this series that can be attained nowhere else in the film world.
