Movie Reviews of Gate to the Mind's EyeMovie Review: A fantasic collection of animation Summary: 5 Stars
Ever since I first saw this on laser disc in the late 90's, I was always in awe of how awesome the video was put together. The quality on the DVD version isn't perfect, but neither was the VHS or Laserdisc versions (and the laserdisc versions are starting to degrade with age). Thomas Dolby put together an excellent soundtrack for the videos, each scene is perfectly matched with the music, from the hard, electronic beat of the opening scene, to the uplifting score playing during the journey through space and alien worlds in the end. My personal favorite in the series.
Movie Review: Fantastic visuals complimented by great music Summary: 5 Stars
The "Mind's Eye" series is a showcase of the latest computer technology mixed with music by contemporary artists. Thomas Dolby does an amazing job of the music in this volume. I find myself playing this disc as background music when working around the house. Don't expect any plot, but you will be impressed by the amazing computer graphics and fantastic music. "Gate to the Mind's Eye", is in my opinion, the best of the series.
Movie Review: Truly AWESOME! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my favorite of "The Mind's Eye" videos, I've seen them all. This one has Variety; Native American, Rock-N-Roll, Mellow, and Instrumental music. I was never a big Dolby fan, but he blew me away with this compilation of tunes. The computer animation is the TOPS! Simply AWESOME!
Movie Review: Best of the 3 'Mind's Eye' vids Summary: 5 Stars
Let me start by saying Thomas Dolby's original soudtrack is superb and sets this compilation apart from the first two. The somewhat coherent 'plot' to call it such adds to the viewing pleasure. Definate two thumbs up!!!
Movie Review: Mesmerizing! Summary: 5 Stars
Kind of a "New age" video from the early 90s with a technology still a little behind to what we see now but still a very captivating video; the price and quality of the DVD, the best.
