Movie Reviews of Gaither Vocal Band: I Do BelieveMovie Review: I Do Believe a great experience! Summary: 5 Stars
From the gorgeous voice of David Phelps, the strong lead of Guy Penrod, the sincere baritone of Mark Lowry, and a good job singing Bass by Bill Gaither, "I Do Believe" is a great expereince.
I realy like this DVD. I've watched it over and over again ever since I recieved it. It's really great!! The title track, "I Do Believe" is, I think, one of, if not THE most worshipful song on the whole DVD--at the end of the song especially, they all are so caught up in sweet worship of Jesus their Savior.
In this DVD we also find out that not only is Mark Lowry funny (there are several comedy bits betewen he and Bill, and he jokes aroud with Guy and David a little bit too. 'Jesus on the Mainline' is one comedy bit that one just needs to see in order to get the full effect), he also has a very sincere faith, loves the Lord, can be very serious and insightful about things, and has a beautiful, smooth, lovely baritone voice.
Bill introduces both Guy and David individually, which I thought was a nice touch. And Anothny Burger plays a rendition of "The Exodus" that is simply amazing. Gloria Gaiter also talks a little bit about life, and says some very true, very insightful things.
I think my favorite songs on this DVD are "I Do Believe", "The Love of God", "On the Authority" "Where No One Stands Alone", and "Hide Thou Me." I also really like the song that say "He is so special to me"--also I really like "Loving God, Loving Eachother." There are a few songs that aren't realy my favorites, but every DVD has those kind of things, and the pluses far outweigh any minuses, in my opinion.
The harmony on this DVD is lovely--I think this particular group of guys is just beautiful, their harmony is smooth, generally tight, and I think this combination of guys in the GVB is one of my absolute favorites!
They have the Talley trio, Jake Hess, the Martins, Russ Taff, Jason Crabb, and the Easters as guests. Very nice job done by all.
In summary, I believe that if you get this DVD, you will not be disappointed!!!! It's fabulous!!!! You'll be getting great songs, a great little talk, one given by Gloria Gaither and the other by Mark Lowry; and, great, obvious, sincere, brotherly love between them all. You'll probably laugh (I did/still do when I watch it!), and you might even cry. And, you'll enjoy the Praise and Worsip--Southern Gospel/four part harmony style!!
