Movie Review: One of the best sounding DVD's I've heard.

I wish they would have done the G3 with Petrucci, but oh well, Yngwie is cool. Vai and Satch are awesome on this DVD. Vai played 2 songs that I had never heard before. They were awesome. It is cool to see the mighty Billy Sheehan rip up the bass. Joe is plain cool! He has chops, but he focuses on feeling so much more. Yngwie is cool, but he plays the same damn licks all the time. This DVD shows his lack of melody and feeling, which is something that he has always lacked in my opinion. Despite that, he was still entertaining to watch. The best thing about this DVD is the sound quality. Epic really does an awesome job on the sound production. I give the sound 100 stars. If you want to see guitar masters at their best, buy this DVD. If they really wanted some cool interplay between the G3 guitarists, they should get Greg Howe. He is unbelievably talented!Movie Review: Very good

I just bought the dvd and i think it's amazing. They are all 3 fantastic guitarists.You know, if you don't like Yngwie that's your taste. The question is: Can you do the same thing ? Every guitarist has their style. Satriani:rock, blues. Vai: hard rock, with a lot of different things like taping, alternate picking, sweep, etc Yngwie:very fast with alternate picking, classical influence(arpeggios,sweep,etc").If you start saying that he's just fast, that he knows his scales well, don't you know that music is based on scales and modes. He plays and compose alot of great classical melodies.A show is a show if you're a real guitar player and you really like it(passion), you're gonna love this video. Because they still are Satriani, Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen.Movie Review: Malmsteen steals the show.

This is by far the best G3 concert I have watched to date. 3 Guitarists with their own unique perception of the instrument. Quite a few reviews have hit out at Malmsteen, but I thought he brought an air of excitment to the concert. His technical ability has always been mind blowing and I do agree that he plays with limited feeling. But this is a guitar concert and a demonstration of what is possible. Satch and Vai play at a similar tempo throughout the concert and Billy Sheen and Tony Macalpine show appearances, but for me Malmsteen stole the show, he burst on, got the crowd going immediatley, probably blew out a million notes and then smashed up his guitar at the end. Now thats what I think the G3 concerts should be about - rock and roll!!!!Movie Review: This is absolutely awesome

I'm not much of a review writer, but after reading some of the reviews here, I had to put my 2 cents in. If you like guitarists, and like the speed and precision of Yngwie, Vai, and Satriani, then get this video. A friend of mine told me about it, and it is worth more than the $12 or so Amazon is charging. I have seen Yngwie about 4 times, Steve Vai once, and Joe Satrini twice, but never all at once. I strongly recommend this video if you like guitar music. One of the things that made me write this review was parts of the the editorial review - "There's little to speak of in terms of songs or melodies" and "But do you think you could play some music now?" First of all you got yngiwe, no doubt that he is one of the greatest guitar sheredders of all time.You got Joe Satriani highly the crazyest man ever!! Then you have good old Steve Vai dont have to explane his talent. this is the greatest dvd ever made. How much emotion all 3 of them put in too this is amazing. Think about it 3 of the greatest guitar players on the earth that come out with one hell of a dvd. Its also cool how they contribue to Hendrix. These guys are as good as Hendrix if not better. Why do people think Hendrix is the best I mean really. Hendrix started it all but I still dont think he can play as fast as Yngiwe can lol or do Steve's Harp tapping I mean who can lol>>>>:)
