Movie Review: Excellent!!!
Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this tour back in 1977 at Stanford University so it was great being able to relive some of those moments. This brought back great memories of the 70's and what it was like to attend concerts back then. The shows were more of an event then just a money making production like they are now. Watching some parts of the DVD actually brought tears to my eyes thinking back on how much fun we had back then. This is a great tribute to the 70's music scene. I saw Frank several times after this show but still think that this show was the most fun. I miss the 70's and early 80's music scene terribly but at least I was able to get back into the moment briefly by watching this outstanding DVD and relive the moment with my teens who wish they could have been around back in the day.Movie Review: tehnically & entertainingly superb audience experience

Dweezil and friends have acheived a great good deed in bringing Frank's big feature film to Zappa fans around the world, via state of the art application of DVD technology.The whole film looks great, the actual performance is always fine and frequently truly astounding. I value that we get to know Frank as a consummate showman with sincere respect for his comrades and for his audience (that's us).
The 5.1 soundtrack gives the most realistic rendition of live concert sound you could ever hope for. The accompanying portfolio of info instead of a standard DVD booklet is a nice touch.
Moreover I am in awe of the effort put into this film by everyone - from Frank, the band and crew, through to Dweezil & co with their fastidious restoration. Well done.

There was only one Frank Zappa. This movie is a front-row seat to one of the best tours (after Ruth, Nappy & Duke era) that Frank put together and all the special magic of Halloween in NYC make it the best experience you could encounter with the great man!

Movie Review: Dear Lord

There are not enough words that I can express how much this movie is excellent. The music, the animation, the music, Frank being Frank....man this is heaven. 2 hours 44 minutes of pure heaven. I wasn't expecting extras, but the package is VERY WELL DONE, plus theres some really cool and funny easter eggs. And would you know it, theres a preview for the Roxy DVD! You gotta love this movie for another reason: TERRY "TED" BOZZIO! In my mind the greatest drummer alive. That man can beat the crap out of drums while singing and going insane. And Patrick O' Hearn, the uber-bassist that can create a killer bottom. Well thats enough: BUY IT YOU WILL NOT REGRET ITMovie Review: WOW!

I'm a diehard Zappa fan from way back and had this on VHS. I'm so thankful it was released on DVD. They did an incredible job. Not only is the transfer excellent but their are lots of extras. Just seeing Frank at his peak with this phenomenal group of musicians is enough, but it doesn't stop there. You'll fall out of your chair laughing at ex-Mother Roy Estrada and Ms. Pinky, his inflatable lover. Mind blowing claymations and behind-the-scenes mayhem abound. Even if you're a casual Zappa fan, this is a MUST for your DVD library.
