Movie Review: Better than Silver Streak

That Richard Pryor-Gene Wilder vehicle was an earlier imitation Hitchcock attempt by writer Colin Higgins. it was mostly done in by bi-sexual fellow actor Patrick McGoohan (of THe Prisoner) and his cold homophobia and non-chemistry with the other actors. IN this Foul Play everyone has great chemistry with each other. Hawn is ultra-superb in the lead. Chevy Chase's finest screen performance and good turn by Burgess Meredith as Hawn's concerned landlord. Plenty of action and comedy tying in better than it all did in Silver Streak.Movie Review: About Time!!

As a great fan of this movie, I have been waiting for this film to be released on to DVD for sometime. One of the best comedies of all time. Goldie (Gloria) is super in this role and Chevy (Tony) is at his best... And who could forget the late Dudley Moore in the role of Stanley Tibbetts, from the moment I saw this movie, the song Stayin Alive has been forever altered in my mind seeing him girate around his flat pulling out everything the (then) pervert needed for a night of passion. Great Film, will enjoy again and again....Movie Review: Still funny after all these years!

If you remember howling with laughter when this film was first released, you won't be disappointed if you see it again now. If you've never seen it before, you are in for a terrific, silly but suspenseful comedy that will hold your interest from beginning to end. Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase are magic together, with a super supporting cast. The situations are implausible, but it's all so well put together! This led to Moore`s breaktrough in "10" a year after(George Segal turned ut down) and it is easily the best spoof of numerous who-dun-its ever...(with High Anxiety). Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase are excellent, but the soundtrack, supporting cast, locations and a witty script(echoes of Hitchcock and especially his VERTIGO are evident) makes this more than just a star vehicle. This is one of my all time favorite movies. Goldie and Chevy make a great team. This was Chevy's first big staring role. I love every aspect of Foul Play. It's comedy, drama, suspense, thrills, and always exciting. Goldie is one of my favorite movie stars. I was so happy to see that Paramount is finally going to release it on DVD. I really didn't think this day would come. :)
