Movie Reviews of For a Lost SoldierMovie Review: Excellent - this is definitely a classic Summary: 5 Stars
This is a classic movie with a very good "simple" look at life in the Netherlands. Like all good movies, it does not shy away from mixing religious scenes with secular. Good father-son type movie, though it has subtle controversial elements in it that will be offensive and suggestive to some, concerning the actual relationship between the boy and the Canadian soldier. If you look at the overall theme, however, there is a very basic element of friendship that is lost in much of modern life.
Movie Review: Outstanding Film! Very heartwarming. Summary: 5 Stars
I have to admit, that when the movie started, I was a little worried about how good it would be. I'm not a foreign-film-with-subtitles fan, but it was truly well done. I do think there were times where something was lost in the translation. But overall, a wonderful movie. The sadness of their short relationship is overshadowed by the fact that such a relationship was allowed to happen at all. If only all of society was so open minded....
Movie Review: EXCELLENT Summary: 5 Stars
I tried so much to hold back tears when I was watching this film. I know, I know it is simply wrong and disgust for an older guy to even have feelings for a 12 year old BUT who is to say when, where or how your first love shows up. I also like the fact the boy was with a stepfather who, to my understanding, knew what he was going through and was able to accommodate and care for him. Its a wonderful foreign film that is a must see!
Movie Review: fantastic Summary: 5 Stars
it is one of the best films that i have ever seen. The story has that something special plus the feelinfs and emotions that have been shown by the actors are just so good.
i was quite moved by the film.
i recommend this film to one and all who are in love .
Movie Review: Very Touching Movie Summary: 5 Stars
This movie was very beautiful and touching. Looking at it through "American" eyes might make some a bit uncomfotable, but if you look at it on a deeper level, you see that it's not about predatory behavior, but about connectedness and identity.
