Movie Reviews of Folks!

Movie Review: Classic Comedy
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a hilarious movie, it literally takes you places you didn't think you'd ever go - it is that good. Tom Selleck is even more handsome (if that is possible) without the famous 'tache, I cannot believe how good that man looks even with all the added on medical scaffolding in the movie. One part that had me doubled up was the part in the ambulance where Tom (already well banged up and bruised from various other scrapes) is making sure he has all of his toes, fingers, ears, eyes, & well, you'll just have to watch the movie ... it's a scene that you know he has to get round to counting those particular parts of his anatomy and when he does it's so-o- funny.

Don Ameche is classic as always and so are the rest of this well observed cast, it is really good to enjoy the laughs, spills, humour and mayhem caused by the old parents, the bitchy sister and bratty children. See it please, you must if you value your sense of humour, it is a classic.

Movie Review: THE BEST
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of the funniest films ever made. Had to watch it immediately when received. YEP!!! Still just as funny! One of the amazing things about this movie is no sex, violence, or foul language. Unfortunately, movies like that are hard to find unless put out by Disney. Thank you very much for carrying this film for sale. Tom Selleck and Don Amache are a "real" pair. It is truely a classic film. Incidently, havent seen a movie since giving up HBO and Showtime in the early 90's. Haven't beern to a theater since Network was first released. Takes a really great movie to interest me. THANK YOU!!!

Movie Review: tom is hilarious
Summary: 5 Stars

Brenda, 11-13-05 says it perfectly, so i won't repeat. This movie is better appreciated by adults than children because of the Alzheimers theme. Anne Jackson is a beautiful lady, very good as a wife and mother in this movie. Don Ameche and Tom were wonderful together. Hilarious, yet poignant at times. There is one crass line by Tom's (screen) sister that should have been left out. When i showed the movie to friends in my home i was embarrassed when that line was said, as they were. otherwise a very funny, enjoyable movie. Again, why the obligatory crudity, Hollywood?

Movie Review: This is a HOOT
Summary: 5 Stars

It is a bit slap stick comedy but it is great in that it is somewhat self-imposed. As a child he neglects to be in contact with his parents and when he does resond to an emergency with his Mom he gets paid back, so to speak, for the years of neglect to his parents. His troubles are due to his lack of interest in them and time has marched on leaving his knowledge of thier condition a bit dusty. Never believe that people who are lost to old age are entirely lost. They are there, somewhere!

Movie Review: The Lighter Side of Alzheimers
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this movie and can not wait until it is released on DVD. It's a comedy of a son dealing with his fathers' Alzheimers disease -- yes, a comedy which makes us laugh at something so devistating that we may or may have already dealt with as our parents age. In no way does this film make fun of the ailment, but the son and what comedic adventures he endures to save his father who doesn't even realize he's not all there. Trust me, it's a great movie that will keep you laughing.
