Movie Review: Folks is as good as it gets
Summary: 5 Stars
If you can't laugh at this movie you are dead. I would put this in my bag of best comedy movies along with Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Weekend at Bernies, and The Russians are Comming, The Russians are Coming. It's slapstick people, enjoy it don't analze it.
Summary of Folks!
Tom Selleck stars as wealthy Chicago broker Jon Aldrich, a loving husband and father who must rush to Florida when his elderly mother becomes ill. But when his senile father (Don Ameche - winner of an Oscar? in 1986 for Best Actor In A Supporting Role in COCOON) burns down their house, Jon is forced to bring his parents home with him. Now nothing in his life - including his money-grubbing sister (Christine Ebersole) or an FBI sting that has frozen all his finances - can compare to the daily dangers of caring for his mother and father. Still, things are about to get much, much worse. Could Jon's final solution be a series of deadly 'accidents' that will take care of his folks for good?
