Movie Review: "Travis, get in the truck!"
Summary: 5 Stars
One of the best UFO movies ever done to this point. This film has scenes of true terror. The charactor of Travis is played near flawlessly by D.B. Sweeney. His alien abduction is unlike any other thats been put on film. Robert Patricks' role as the concerned friend is a remarkably expressed down to Earth portrayal. James Garner plays an outstanding ultra suspicious investigator. The rural setting adds an understandable skepticism about the bizzare UFO story. The aliens look fakeish, but that doesn't take away from their cold, heartless actions and the otherworldly image they give off. With the same content this movie could easily have been a back shelf bomb. However, careful analysis of thoughts and ideas prevailed. It is based on a supposedly true story and handles it well. The movie also deals with friendship, and the layers it has. The film is different because it deals with two seperate issues:Whats happening on Earth/Whats happening with the abducted. Good Sci-Fi all around. The dvd quality is very good. Turn it up.Movie Review: Awesome movie that needs to be seen

Before shows like the "X-Files" premiered we relied
on movies like "Fire in the Sky" to satisfy our curiousity
about aliens and UFO's.
This movie is superbly directed, and acted. D.B. Sweeney
plays Travis Walton whose abducted one cold night in
Arizon in 1975.
What follows is a large amount of hysteria on the case.
Is he really missing or did his friends murder him?
Once he is found, is this still a large hoax?
As the movie shows us, none of this is true, and Walton
through some flashbacks and some physical abuse that
results in seizures relieves the terror he faced
while being abducted.
It does sound absurd but so far no one has been able
to discredit him either.
This is a good movie. The aliens look evil and scary,
Walton's little escapade inside the alien ship has
to be one of the most memorable moments in Sci-Fi
movie making history.
Movie Review: Very realistic movie based on true accounts....

When I first saw this film in 1993 I was very surprised to learn that it was based on a true story. The way the movie portrayed the townspeople as all non-believers is the way it would actually be right? This story adapted very well onto the big screen due to great writing, decent special effects, and very good acting. These actors really did a good job on not making this movie too corny or fake. I had kinda forgotten about this movie until it came out on dvd but after seeing it now the story really does stay with me. The dvd transfer is very crisp and clear with great 5.1 sound. I wish they had some special features included on the dvd. At least a follow up on the people the movie was about.Movie Review: FIRE IN THE SKY ON DVD!! AT LAST!!

i have always been a firm believer that we are not alone in this
vast universe and the true story of travis walton just fueled my
belief that much more!! yes,the movie does differ from the book
but still hits hard on the actual event that did take place in
the mountains of arizona in november of 1975...i thought that the
actors portraying these people made it quite believable that this
did really happen! i have waited for the longest time for this to
be released on dvd and now the wait is over!! if you have yet to
see this movie,get it..watch it..and believe!! oh yes..be afraid
be very afraid!!
Movie Review: Entertaining movie...

Even though this is supposed to be a fictionalized account of an actual event and adds Hollywood special effects where very little may actually exist in the real life drama, it is nonetheless an exceptionally entertaining and well done movie. The acting is top notch, the storytelling is captivating, the special effects are very effective. I saw this movie years ago, remembered it as being a movie worthy of owning, and wasn't disappointed when I picked it up and my wife & I watched it. A very entertaining movie... -kd5-
