Movie Review: Saved the day!!!

I had borrowed the movie, Finian's Rainbow from a former employer. I've since changed jobs and lost touch when my friend called and inquired about the movie. I had donated old VHS movies to the Rest Home in our area and that movie must have been in the box.I went to the rest home and they couldn't find it anywhere. I went on Amazon.Com and there it was. A new DVD which worked out better because my friend needed it for the local theatre for a musical and they could go right to the scenes needed. What a lifesaver!! Thank You, Scarlett Parrish

Finian's Rainbow (1968) is one of the truly great movies of all time!
Unfortunately it was produced at the beginning of the reign of terror instigated by the Liberal Thought Police, and labeled "racially discriminatory."
Nothing could be further from the truth. It attacked racial bigotry in a most delightful way.
Check it out. I'm sure you will like it!

I'm in love with MUSICALS. I've always liked Fred Astaire (and Petula Clark has such a haunting voice, I could listen to her for hours). Tommy Steele does a very credible job as the leprechaun (I remember him from The Happiest Millionaire). As for the story, it's standard fare for musicals, but the singing (and dancing), OH MY. I had watched this movie years ago when it first came out and remembered I liked it. I had it ordered for my library. This is an excellent family movie. Fred Astaire and the rest of the cast are superb in their dances and songs.
