Movie Review: Great Movie. Square Enix does it right.
Summary: 4 Stars
I just finished watching the movie with subtitles and it is near perfect. I am really not all that biased towards Final Fantasy, I mean the game was fine but I am not a die hard fan.
The Movie surpassed my expectations. Square Enix did a beautiful job animating it. It also seams they learned from there mistakes in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. There is just enough dialogue to intrigue you, the story is very clear and straight forward and there are constant action scenes littered throughout the movie to keep you on your toes.
All the characters from the game get proper screen time and new characters get introduced nicely. You feel for the characters, especially Cloud as you see him more as a troubled soldier not being able to deal with death. He is not the flat perfect hero.
One confusing thing is that there are two evil guys that look almost exactly alike. They should have distinguished there personalities a bit more other than just the hair and a gun.
When you finish watching this movie you are left in aww at the sheer beauty of Computer Graphics, character design, environments and the intriguing story line.
The thing you are left thinking is why Sqaure Enix did not fully release this theatrically.
