Summary of Fighting for Freedom: Revolution & Civil War
Freedom is the overarching theme of America's history. It is what has drawn countless human being here from around the world, and it is what generations of American men and women have lived and dies for. "Fighting for Freedom" tells the story of the forging place of American -- the Revolutionary War. As that costly war unfolded, it came to be said that American freedom was "born in revolution." But if America was founded on the promise of a land in which all persons might be free, there was from the start a glaring contradiction: slavery. Slavery undermined America's "experiment in freedom," and the Civil War it spawned could be resolved by nothing less than all-out war.Documentary DVD Video
