Movie Reviews of Fierce CreaturesMovie Review: A good reunion Summary: 4 Stars
Ok nothing beats an original, but a well written (and good acting) reprise of an effective ensemble can bring smiles again. Dangerous Creatures does this bringing back A Fish Called Wanda stars in a whole new story with similar chemistry that entertained many.
John Cleese plays Rollo a zoo administrator that is forced to sell out to a new charismatic owner Vince McCain played by Kevin Kline. Kline also plays McCain's son Rod. Kline is especially funny when he acts as Rod disguised as Vince. Jamie Lee Curtis plays the smart and sexy Willa who is very much turned on by Rollo's presumed "promiscuous" lifestyle. Finally there is Michael Palin who plays Adrian, one of the zoo employees always playing the devil's advocate.
Though not as good as Wanda, still an overlooked gem worth taking a viewing of.
Movie Review: Calm down, people. The movie wasn't that bad. Summary: 4 Stars
I'm reading some of the reviews on here, and some of them are just a little nasty. I mean, this wasn't a great movie, but it wasn't a bad one either. I loved "A fish called Wanda," but I think the super quality of that movie set expectations a little too high for this one, which is part of what is causing these nasty comments. It's very hard to recreate something of the same caliber as "Wanda," especially when you've got the same cast, without repeating yourself. But give it a break! This movie was funny, the acting was good, it wasn't that bad! It just wasn't as good as it's prequel. I think fans of the first movie should see this, if only to see John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline, and Michael Palin all reuinted again - and because of the fact that it was GOOD!
Movie Review: Funny and worth it in its own right Summary: 4 Stars
I've three things to say about this movie:1. Anything with Michael Palin is worth renting or buying. 2. Too bad this movie suffers from the inevitable "Fish Called Wanda" comparisons. "Fish" appears in many "Top 10 Comedies of All Time" lists. In comparison, "Fierce Creatures" is just a clever little movie. Accept it at that and you'll have a lovely time. These four actors know comedy. 3. Kevin Kline as the Rupert Murdoch-like takeover artist? Maybe the most side-splitting characterization ever seen on film. Why don't more people talk about that portrayal? It's astoundingly great acting. You could watch the scene where he "does the deal" 20 times in a row and laugh every time. Just the best.
Movie Review: Ferociously funny! Summary: 4 Stars
Rollo Lee (John Cleese) is a newly-appointed Zoo Director who's been told in no uncertain terms that he must make the venture profitable. Rollo quickly concludes that the only way to start the cash flow is to display only the most savage of animal attractions. He calls a meeting with the zookeepers and tells them: "From now on in this zoo we require only animals that are potentially violent. Fierce animals! I want a lethal weapon in every cage!" Loveable lemurs, meek meerkats, and pacifist penguins are all made to fool the public into believing that they are, indeed, fierce creatures. Classic Cleese.

Movie Review: Good movies presented badly Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very good movie but to get the feel of the full story it needs to be seen in the original aspect ratio of 2.35 to 1.Many scenes edges are chopped off and distractingly paned across. Universal releases several other of its popular (and not so popular)films in widesceen format so why not this popular movie. I would recommend the widescreen version of the video tape if you can find it over the full screen dvd. So to Universal get this movie on dvd the way it was filmed and intended to be seen, please !
