Movie Reviews of Fierce CreaturesMovie Review: HILARIOUS. A MUST-SEE MOVIE, AND A PURE DELIGHT! Summary: 5 Stars
Once I saw this film in the theater, I knew I had to own it. I suggest, if you like truely smart comedy that provides belly laughs, you must see this wonderful film. I am suprised it did so grimly at the box-office, although it did very well overseas. Also, if you like Monty Python, you must watch. It is at times satirical, at times parody, and at times, just crude humor to balance it out. Kevin Kline is extremely funny, and walks away with the film from the opening credits on. He is a truly gifted actor, and makes an ordinarily delightful movie excellent. NOTE: This is NOT a sequel to A fish called Wanda. It does have the same cast, but has a comlpetely different storyline. Also, the premise is completely original, and is not so formulatic like so many other comedies. If you're looking for a great movie to rent or buy, choose this, and I promise, you WILL NOT be dissapointed with your choice.
Movie Review: A study in economics Summary: 5 Stars
As one knows all institutions should pull their own weight in today's economic environment. John Cleese as Rollo Lee is tasked with coming up with a money making scheme to save the Zoo. The theme is "Fierce Creatures" See the unique solution in action.
All the characters in this movie have some unique quirkiness to them. I am not going into detail as the surprises are best seen. However Rollo gets a kinky reputation by being seen with half-clad women (plural) and various compromising situations with animals.
Bottom line will the Zoo be saved? What happened to less fierce creatures and people? Will Willa find love or a reasonable substitute?
Look for Cynthia Cleese (daughter of John Cleese and Connie Booth) as Pip Small Mammals.
A Fish Called Wanda ~ John Cleese
Movie Review: FC Fierce Summary: 5 Stars
I love Fierce Creatures. It is more funnier. It is one of my favorite Kevin Kline movies of all time and now I have 17 of them. I was just Not sure if they would sell them in stores or not so I decided to rent it insted. My favorite Characters in the movie were Vince and Rod McCain and Willa Weston. I like the part where Vince finds out that Rollo had 3 girls, the part where Vince was Stripping and goofing off and thought Willa was in the Bedroom, the Part where Vince said that Rod Screwed up his whole childhood, and the part where Vince was happy that Rod was dead. Before I had it, I thought it was going to be an Adult Comedy same as if for the Movie In & Out as of an Adult Comedy. Also, I like the part where Vince was destroying the cart where the Champagne was and was acting like a spoiled child. The Stripping and Goofing off scene is what makes me want to watch that movie.
Movie Review: What a funny movie! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is hilarious. It is much funnier than the movie that preceded it, "A Fish Called Wanda." We have watched it several times, and I think that it has something for everyone in the family. There are some adult situations, but they are not necessarily understandable to small children. I would suggest watching it first without them, however. John Cleese is a gem in almost anything he does, and he doesn't disappoint here. Jamie Lee Curtis is terrific and extremely funny. Kevin Kline--well I didn't like his character much, but he excelled in his portrayal. The supporting cast was great and the backdrop of the zoo is wonderful. Watch for the scene with Jamie Lee Curtis and a gorilla. It certainly brought tears to my eyes. And I just love happy endings.
Movie Review: Timeless Comedy Summary: 5 Stars
I'm always reticent to believe the hype that surrounds a sequel (or a sort of sequel in this case) because often times, it falls short. Not so with "Fierce Creatures." It is a pure delight. Here it is 2006-almost ten years after its release-and I'm buying it so it can be a part of my DVD collection. Why? I know I'll want to keep watching it.
The acting is superb! One can't go wrong with Kevin Kline, John Cleese and Michael Palin. The deliveries are fast-paced and flawless. The whole storyline is hysterical and everything builds to a surprising climax.
If you've never seen this movie-get it! It's so much more clever than the tripe that usually passes for comedy.
