Movie Reviews of Female TroubleMovie Review: back when john waters didn't care what people thought of him Summary: 5 Stars
Female trouble is the peak of john water's career.. it is his sergent pepper.. his mona lisa.. It is the movie divine was born to star in.. not quite the gross out fest as 'pink flamingo's' it is nevertheless as outrageous and fun to watch.. it features many of waters' flock from previous films.. including the sublime edith massey.. who's voice is as delightful as nails on a chalk board.. pure fun: excess, absurdity, and obscene glamor..
Movie Review: One of the Best Movies Ever Made Summary: 5 Stars
Female Trouble is quite honestly one of the finest examples of film making ever made. I would rank it at the absolute top of it's genre. Without John Water's breaking the mold, the humor of Sex and The City, Ab Fab, and everything that has follwed would not have been. A pin point perfect commentary on true-crime fascination and celebrity obsession decades before fame craving, talentless Lindsey, Britney and Paris took the stage.
Movie Review: Very funny Summary: 5 Stars
I love this movie by John Waters. It was made around 1974 on a very low budget In Water's hometown of Baltimore. It stars the fabulous Divine and oter regulars from his early classic movies including Mink Stole and Edith Massey. While Pink Flamingos has gotten much more attention, this movie is my favorite of his early films. You have to have a sick sense of humor to enjoy this movie. If you dont,,,please dont bother!
Movie Review: For John Waters fans ONLY!! Summary: 5 Stars
This isn't the kind of movie you blind-buy. You need to make sure you're into this kind of thing first, because this movie is way out there.
There aren't many features other than a commentary, but the quality is fine and as long as you're paying a reasonable price for the film, you have nothing to worry about. Be sure to check out 'Pink Flamingos' too.
Movie Review: Hairspray without the music and production values, or any values Summary: 5 Stars
Divine is a goddess of crime and beauty. Mink Stole steals every scene she is in (for 14 taffy you don't look so good). There are many elements that made there way from this film to Water's big budget Hairspray. Mostly the teenage years. Not for the faint of heart but so funny. This may be Waters first film with a plot.
