Movie Reviews of FearMovie Review: Can someone say 'psychotic killer?' Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this movie several years ago on USA and at first, wasn't interested with it's rather slow beginning but once Nicole (Witherspoon) started dating likable and seemingly all around good-guy David (Wahlberg), their obvious strong attraction seemed something that I just wanted to pay attention to. When David starts to come on strong to innocent Nicole, her father, an over protective and rather wealthy man, proclaims that he is too much of a secretive boyfriend to hold on to and after Nicole attempts to break up with him, that's when all hell breaks loose.
This is truly Wahlberg's break-out role. He perfectly portrays that of a sickingly psychotic killer (and in one dramatic scene, beats himself up to win over Nicole) and while, surprise surprise, Reese Witherspoon seems totally in love with him, you know there's something wrong. But you just can't help but watch it!
In the end, Walhberg and Witherspoon come to terms with their strange romance in a dramatic twist that the ignorant might have not seen coming. And while it's predictable plot might not immediately win you over, the superb acting will. Witherspoon and Wahlberg show all they've got in this film (in more than one ways)...their acting shines bright and while they are constantly the focus of attention, all the more better for the audience: the two keep the drama going, the suspense is riveting despite the obvious ending... A movie that opened up doors of all sorts for the main actors.
Movie Review: There's a real life serial rapist named David Wayne McCall Summary: 5 Stars
Summary: There's a real life serial rapist named David Wayne McCall (strangely)
I thought this movie was an excellent and very realistic production! Not only is it realistic, but it reaches into the mind of the psycho, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
This David McCall character strangely resembles a real life counterpart: David Wayne McCall.
There's a real life convicted serial rapist named David W. McCall, who was convicted as a juvenile in South Bend/Notre Dame, IN Indiana, in St. Joseph County: David Wayne McCall was convicted at age 15 for serially and violently raping several St. Mary's College Students in the late 1970's.
McCall is accused of multiple additional rape cases in Plano, Dallas, & Irving Texas, and is still suspected of a rape / murder case in Indiana where he allegedly murdered CAROLYN SCHINKE. I knew him in grade and middle school at Clay Middle School and Clay high school where he was an award winning wrestler trained by (Wrestling Coach Glen Nelson) and he [Mccall] always seemed quite violent. I can't speak on McCall's overall guilt except for his juvenile record: but I amazed he's on the loose after so many known crimes: kidnapping, sexual assault, possibly murder... he's known to especially stalk female joggers! So, beware Texas! You don't want this guy loose and in your backyard.

Movie Review: Bad News With A Short Fuse... Summary: 5 Stars
I knew guys like David (Mark Wahlberg) in highschool. They were always in fights, constantly breaking the law, and kept most of the student body in mortal terror. Ah, memories! These guys weren't just bullies, they were stone-cold criminals. FEAR presents an excellent view of one such super-thug in Wahlberg's character. He is a cruel, explosive keg of rage and fury. At first, when trying to woo young Nicole (Reese Witherspoon from American Psycho), David appears sweet, sensitive, and understanding. Well, it's all just a a means to an end. David only wants to have Nicole, to possess her. His sugary words in the beginning are meant only as bait. Nicole's dad (William Peterson) is suspicious of David from the start. He goes out of his way to keep him away from his daughter, which draws them closer together. Ultimately, Nicole must (and boy, does she!) see David for what he truly is for herself. Her fantasies must be shattered before it's too late. Unfortunately, David is very persistant, and will not give up so easily. He is crazy, which enables him to do as he pleases without rules, limits, or much thought. He's a scary guy! I thoroughly enjoyed FEAR and recommend it as a great thriller. Yep, I often wonder what happened to the Davids I went to school with. Prison? Dead? Or worse, are they out there now, destroying more lives as adults? Brrrr...
Movie Review: FEAR ITSELF Summary: 5 Stars
Maybe it's derivative, but FEAR packs a punch due to the expert direction of James Foley and the dead-on performances of Mark Wahlberg, Reese Witherspoon and William Petersen. Nice girl Reese (beautiful and a marvelously talented actress) goes along with pal Alyssa Milano to a club where she catches the eye of hunky David McCall (Wahlberg, in a chilling and good performance). Of course, once she finds herself falling for him, she sees a violent and darker side as he attacks her best friend and pushes her in the face. David, being the charming psychopath he is, manages to patch things up, and then things really start firing up. Petersen's father is a devoted, family man, who truly loves his daughter. When he realizes Wahlberg is not the Prince Charming he appears to be, he warns him to stay away from his daughter. But Wahlberg won't take no for an answer, so he rallies up his drug-dealing friends and attacks the home of Reese and her family. A tense, nerve wracking ending with powerful performances. A guilty, but enjoyable, pleasure, showing that Wahlberg has more than a buff body to credit his success.
Movie Review: Hostility Lies In the Eyes Oh Her Holder Summary: 5 Stars
Nicole Walker's idea of the perfect boyfriend is clear when she meets David McCall for the first time. From her schoolgirl lifestyles and midnight curfew, David is not satisfied with the ways of his lady. In the manipulation and phony character that he inflicts upon her family, he could almost get away with murder with her father's content. But Nicole's father doesn't take David's 'perfect' personality seriously in fear that his daughter isn't in the hands of a sincere and responsible man. So ignorantly enough, Nicole's father takes it into his own hands to investigates David's past, and uncovers many flaws that seemed to make it past Nicole's idea that things could never be this perfect. Nicole too discovers David's hostility, and when she tries to resist his horrible behavior and poisonous intentions, things get violent and Nicole finds herself, her family, and her closest friends in serious danger!
