Movie Review: Sweet and heartfelt

My wife is Hungarian/Romanian, and we watch foreign films more than the average couple. Hungarian films often focus on the disturbing or gritty, but this one is less depressing than the norm. It does however, have to do with political upheavals, and especially the second World War, as many films of Hungarian orign do (those available in the USA).
A boy tells the story of his father's life as he remembers it. But of course, he wasn't told very much about him because political realities make it dangerous for him to know too much - and Hungarian children are sheltered from the harsh adult world, usually thorugh silence. He realizes as he gets older, that much of what he knows he has either made up, or misinterpreted. In the end, he decides that he prefers his version of dad to the reality, and that it's OK to do so.
My wife and I became intrigued by the spraypainted sign "OH" on the walls of some buildings in many Hungarian films about WW2. We found out from an elderly relative that it probably means "Ovo Haz" (accents missing), meaning, "bomb shelter."
