Movie Reviews of Fantastic PlanetMovie Review: Classic Summary: 5 Stars
This is a cult classic like no other. The artwork is surreal, as so is the subject matter of the film. The sound track is super funkalicious.
I had been searching and searching for this movie over the last couple of years, with prices reaching $179. This was of course for the original release. Thank goodness they re-released the movie, so that it is available at such a low price.
The added bonus, a track by Sean Lennon. Who is a force of hugely artistic proportions, and whose modern day interpretation still holds true to the films inspiration.
Movie Review: Sadly continuing to wait Summary: 5 Stars
I first saw this film on "Up all Night" on the USA Network seemingly ions ago. I recorded it on VHS. Alas that tape was removed from my possesion by an inconsiderate oaf.
Since then I have hoped for a re-issue of this masterpiece. My joy at having finally found the Film available on DVD has been squashed by the inadequate quality of either issue of this film. I guess I will continue to wait until an acceptable quality transfer of this piece is made. My opinion is that you should wait too.
Movie Review: Brought back memories... Summary: 5 Stars
First saw this movie in the mid-70's on Channel 13 (PBS station in New York City) when I was 13 or 14 - black and white 13 inch TV in my parent's bedroom! Left an impression on me then. Wanted to see it again - found it on Amazon - still as good as I remembered! Color is much better than black and white, 32 inch TV is much better than 13, and you get more out of it seeing it with older eyes. Recommended for anyone who likes thought-provoking sci-fi!
Movie Review: Still looks great! Summary: 5 Stars
I was surprised and happy! to see this has been made available to purchase as a DVD. I saw this when it was originally playing in theaters and I never forgot it. And I'm happy to report it still looks great. In fact, everything about this movie has stood the test of time. And that Includes the Floyd-ish soundtrack, which I purchased here as well.
I watched this with my 10 year old, she dug it too ; - ).
Movie Review: archival resource Summary: 5 Stars
After sorting through the numerous reviews and learning more about the substantially different versions offered, I was able to better enjoy a film that I hadn't seen for decades. As one reviewer had mentioned a possible problem of bit-rate, I have only watched it on a PC, not as yet on a discrete player.
The selected source provided prompt and proper service.
Thanks to all.
