Movie Reviews of Fahrenheit 451Movie Review: A dark future perhaps not so far Summary: 5 Stars
To have a book is verboten (forbidden). And those people who still read them, will be punished. Thsi statement is the central nervous of that film. The sequence of a woman reading a comics without words is a cruel methapor of a world that reminds us to the book's burn in the Reichstag in the thirties. Julie Christie, an extraordinary actress and a true icon of the sixties, steals the show. Oskar Werner as Montag is OK. A film who'll disturb and will let you thinking. A must for you to watch it. The paper burns at 451 Farenheit degrees.
Movie Review: Oldie but goody Summary: 5 Stars
A movie version of Ray Bradbury novel of a restristed society that banned books "for our own good". People are given drugs to make them feel good all the time (like Prozac and other drugs now).
It's an excellent movie and considering where we seem to be heading, a timely movie to watch.
BTW, I found it interesting that a TV called a "Wallscreen" looks identical to today's HDTVs!
Movie Review: Farenheit 451 DVD Summary: 5 Stars
I'd seen this movie numerous times growing up. When my 13 year old son read the book for a school book report, I wanted him to see the movie. It's hilarious to see the Firefighters chasing after Montag with their jet packs - you can see the strings holding them up! Still, great classic movie, and can't wait for the Mel Gibson updated remake.
Movie Review: I read Fahrenheit 451 when I was a kid. Summary: 5 Stars
I love Ray Bradbury's stories and this is a great one. I think I read this paperback version around 1968 and saw the movie several years later. Science fiction intrigues me and this one captivated me. Who knows what the future will bring but this was a great version.
Movie Review: Brilliant! Summary: 5 Stars
The pairing of a Ray Bradbury story and direction of Francois Truffaut makes me as a Ray Bradbury fan wish that this pairing could have happened for more of his stories. The special features are well worth the DVD alone, and the film is of course absolutely amazing.
