Movie Review: The films that created a new genre...Horror Social Satire.
Summary: 5 Stars
Those who talk about just the morbid aspects of this material are missing the point. This mixture of reenactment [strange how no one calls Unsolved Mysteries "fake"] and documentary footage must be seen as the beginning of a new type of film. The music is designed to sound like "world gone mad" with repetitive electronic loops that were NEW sounding when the first film came out. This is social satire by hosted by the fake "Dr. Francis B. Gross" [whose job is to "B. Gross"] done with such a straight face that rednecks won't realize that they're being played!

FACES OF DEATH, possibly the most notorious collection of purportedly real deaths caught on camera, has not only garnered a huge cult following since its release, but also helped launched an entire genre, that of the real life disaster video. Collected here are FACES OF DEATH II and THE ORIGINAL WORST OF FACES OF DEATH, a collection of scenes from early episodes of the series. Some of the grotesque death scenes, which range from the obviously fake to the disturbingly real, include: napalm bombings in Vietnam, Cambodian lepers, a driver high on PCP, a parachutist landing in a crocodile pit, and a horrendous accident on the Autobahn.Similar DVD Movies
