Movie Reviews of Exodus

Movie Review: Exodus
Summary: 5 Stars

For my wife and I this was a return to the year when we were dating. This film was playing and we went to see it. She liked the soundtrack so much that I bought it for her as a gift. This was in 1961 or 1962. We enjoyed the movie then and enjoyed it more this time because of the memories. The fact that we are older and seem to understand a little more about the world also enhanced the experience. Buy it, you will like it.

Movie Review: worth watching
Summary: 5 Stars

still relevant today, Exodus offers a glimpse of the Jewish plight after WW2. I would go so far as to say it offers a Jewish perspective on the formation of the state of Israel in an informative and engrossing story. My only complaint is that it is a little long, perhaps could even have been split into two movies. This is worth watching not just for Paul Newman but for the perspective.

Great acting. If you have read the book you will fully understand and love the movie; otherwise, one could find themself a little lost. If you have not read the book, I personally recommed you get a copy and read it before you watch the movie. Well done and a true representation of many of the aspects of the formation of Israel as a country.

Movie Review: Fascinating study of a Nations plight
Summary: 5 Stars

EXODUS has become one of those long forgotten epics and to finally see it on DVD brought back great memories. The journey from Cyprus to Palestine/The fight for independence are only two of the highlights of this wonderful movie. I only hope more epics are released soon on DVD. (What about EL CID IN Widescreen?)

Movie Review: Never forget!
Summary: 5 Stars

Most people don't think of Exodus when they think of epic movies. And, maybe it's not a true epic, maybe a mini-epic.

The re-foundation of Israel in 1948 was nothing short of a miracle. The film does a nice job of showing the struggle of post-WW2 Jews re-founding their nation.

Enjoy.
