Movie Reviews of Exodus

Movie Review: Not Just Entertaining, But Very Informative As Well!
Summary: 5 Stars

I just watched this last night, and this is a great movie. With all the global terrorism being committed by radical Muslims,I am interested in finding out why Arabs hate Jews with such an insane hatred. This movie explains why the Palestinians have a legitimate gripe, and admits this, but shows that much of the rest of the Arab world just stuck their noses in where it did not even concern them! I loved how this film showed the heart, desire, and determination of the Jews to have a nation of their own. Incredible after what they had just been through in WWII. What was even more incredible was for me to learn, how the entire world had always treated them as unwanted! It made me share their joy when they finally got the news that the U.N. had passed the resolution for partition of Palestine. I'm so glad that I discovered this great film, even at this late date.It was so worth watching. Makes me even more determined to keep Israel in my prayers!

Movie Review: Epic Film of the Founding of Israel
Summary: 5 Stars

Otto Preminger's 1960 cinematic presentation of the founding of Israel, from an adaptation of Leon Uris's novel, is strictly old-school filmmaking. That is a good thing and the best way to approach this novel and subject. The methodical progression of the story concisely and dramatically interprets events and puts them into a historical perspective for future thought and discernment. Otto Preminger's singular purpose is to tell how Israel came into existence. He skirts political and moral issues with hackneyed characters and their simplistic points of view to get his story across. The overall effect of this film is moving enhanced with composer Ernest Gold's inspiring score and central theme. The cast is impressive and includes Paul Newman, Eva Marie Saint, Ralph Richardson, Sal Mineo, Hugh Griffith, Lee J. Cobb, John Derek, Peter Lawford, Marius Goring (good casting), David Opatoshu, Martin Benson and Jill Haworth.

Movie Review: Important movie
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie is long and somewhat slow. However, that doesn't stop me from watching or liking this movie because it is full of history and drama. I am captivated by the Jewish culture and history, and seeing a nation of people just trying to get home is very touching. There is some action and some romance, but the important thing about this movie is the conflict of a people just trying to be free.

Please be patient and watch this. It is very touching and compelling.

Movie Review: Exodus is excellent! 5 stars PLUS 5!
Summary: 5 Stars

1,000 words is NOT ENOUGH to describe this OUTSTANDING drama of the re-birth of Israel by Otto Preminger. Paul Neuman stars as "Ari", a revolutionist who is trying to regain his people's land. He is joined by the lovely Eva Marie Saint. Together, they strive to bring about liberty for the Jews. If you walk away without being moved by the passion of this story, you'd better check your pulse. Utterly fantastic! Compelling musical score! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Movie Review: SAL MINEO & JILL HAWORTH: A LOVE STORY IN A WAR FILM
Summary: 5 Stars

Ok, yes, watch this film for it's haunting tale of war..But the reason I love this film is the love story of characters Dov and Karen, played by Sal Mineo and Jill Haworth. Their onscreen chemistry is heartbreaching. Sal Mineo won an Oscar Nomination(his 2nd) in "Exodus", and he also won the Golden Globe award in "Exodus" for best supporting actor. Mineo was robbed as he should have also won the OSCAR!
