Russell and Phurba urged Tim Medevetz and Gerade to come off the mountain. Mark Ingels summits and descends but is unsuccessful in urging Tim off the mountain. A long day on the summit is a bad day. Tim realizing he does not want to die on the mountain and turns around about 100 meters from the summit. The risk is running out of oxygen. Cowboy will not let Gerade summit. Tim and Gerade must move fast to get to Mushroom room to get fresh oxygen bottles. Phurba tells Tim, "you are so lazy", urging him to go down the mountain faster. The oxygen is increase giving him a boost of energy, but runs the risk of running out oxygen. Russell urges the group to stay together and get off the slope. Tim is showing signs of hypothermia and wants to fall asleep.
Max discovers a guy about ready to die. Russell wants Max to get oxygen over his face. The man is huge. Max shares his oxygen, but Russell urges him down and to walk away. Russell tells Max it takes twenty people to bring one man down.
One Sherpa is pulling and the other pushing Gerade down the slope. Russell tells Phurba too keep Gerade walking. They must get down from the death zone. Tim slips off the slope and the safety line saves him. The bad accidents happen on the descent. 200 dead bodies on the slopes. Gerade and Tim make it too camp four. Everything is exceedingly difficult.
Fourteen hours to get from the summit to camp 3. Everyone is back at camp 3. Mark needs help getting down. Tim volunteers to helps Mark. The French man on the slope dies. Sherpas complete the rescue.
The Sherpa admire Mark. The Sherpa will carry Mark on his back, the strength was legendary, 120 pounds on his back. Black skin is bad case of frost bite. Rewarm the tissue and thaw out the appendages.
