Movie Review: Dark, gritty action flick, but just camped up enough
Summary: 5 Stars

I used to watch this incessantly when I was a teen (one of the first movies we had on a blurry VHS tape we'd made). It's the real deal. All the cameos are first rate, camped-up fun. And Kurt Russell is one bad fellow. But not without honor. And, as with a lot of 80s dystopia (like Verhoeven's films), some of the swipes and gags have a little serious edge to them. I'd watch this any day of the week.

Movie Review: "Air traffic control-- this is Remmy, south of the battery, 2 in the water dead, confirmed"
Summary: 5 Stars

This is classic Carpenter at his best. I have literally seen this movie at least 150 times. Carpenter stretched this film to the very limits, where cheese meets darkness and survival, and ended up with a brilliant film that made me want to be Snake Pliskin for Halloween four years in a row!!!! If you love end of society movies, but don't take them to seriously, then this is the flick for you!!!

Movie Review: Huh? Alright, alright it's a cult classic
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie takes place in 1997? I didn't know NYC was a maximum security prison then and now.
Posted February 15th, 2003. Addenda: Why do they have the putrid sequel to his film listed as an 'essential video' while this one isn't? Quote: "Just call me Snake."

I should add this film is quite good considering the budget it was made on. Probably Carpenter's best non-horror opus. Recommended!

Movie Review: Some say that he is dead
Summary: 5 Stars

But whatever he is Kurt Russell proves that he can kick some major tail. When New York has been turned into a prison this guy is the only one you can count on.

Everything is great about this movie.

Great sound track
Great villian
Great action
Great...big 80s hair

an instant cult classic if you enjoyed MAD MAX you will enjoy this one
