As a rock musician from the late 60s and 70s, I love this movie!!! It speaks to a music culture that few people understand and rings true to the high emotions and deep love for pure rock and roll!!! Pare's look is perfect, Cafferty's music is wonderful and I encourage anyone who loves rock to watch this movie and even better, the sequel - Eddie & the Cruisers II!! Movie Review: now we need E&TC - Eddie lives!

While I love this movie, the sequel is even better! For any of you who lived the rock-and-roll 70's and 80's, this movie will speak to you. The music takes on a life of it's own as well, and you'll find yourself searching out all the various CD's which support these cult classics. Now, we just need Eddie Lives on DVD to complete the experience....my tapes are wearing out!Movie Review: Eddie LIves !

This movie should go down as an all time clasic. I'm a father of two boys that still love and watch this movie. ( we rented it on video when it was first released ) and the music never gets old.How anyone could write a bad review regarding this film is beyond me. If you like rock and roll, this movie shows how the seed was planted and grew to what it is today.

I too, am one of those surprised by Tom's editoral review. I think he's way off base. Everyone I know loves this movie and it's been one of my favorites for years. The music is terrific, as is the storyline and acting.
Michael Pare` was the perfect Eddie, no question about it. With his charisa and gorgeous looks, they couldn't have made a better choice.
