It is about two great minds, Frank and Eddie, coming together to create something new. Eddie sees in Frank a great songwriter and uses his (Eddie's) leadership ability to put the words to music just right. This is a movie about ideas, values and friendship working toward a common goal. One of the most telling lines of the film. If you want great, go watch something else. If you want On The Dark Side, watch Eddie and The Cruisers. This is a cult classic that shows what a great band can do when they just play what they love. It also shows the dark side of the world when someone writes something that the record producer may not like at all, and the effects that has on an artist.
A great way to see a young Tom Berenger and Joey "Pants".

Despite what others may say - great movie, great soundtrack. Hey, everyone has a right to their own opinion and that's mine! Maybe the plot is just a little off-the-wall and stretches things a little, but it is plausible although highly unlikely. Compared to some other rock and roll oriented movies, this one is a classic. If you enjoy good music in a dramatic setting, you'll probably like this one. Now, just one question: When do we get Eddie II, Eddie Lives?Movie Review: Words and Music

I love the "words and music" because I can relate to a most of them. When "words and music" can make me cry and make me laugh, then you are saying something. And that's what the Eddie Wilsons of music are trying to do. They want you to wrap yourselves up in their music forever. This film is a fantasy!! Pretend! And.. wonderful! Have seen it countless times and it always manages to evoke so many positive feelings, it's impossible to list. The "Editor's Review" says the story is impossible to accept- I disagree!! It's fun and I love it..again and again! No problem here!Also have to put in my vote to those who are holding up the release of Eddie and the Cruiser's 2...what's in the way of this release? Work it out!!
