What have the critics ever made that kept you laughing? Enjoy this fast paced funny ride in class warfare. Ed O'neil is great as the put upon blue collar boyfriend. Ethan R. played the book smart{but no common sense} lonely, snotty brat very well. Their roadtrip from hell may have been overdone to some? Ed's character having his car totalled may have been over the top? But, it was wickedly funny and that is what a comedy is supposed to be. It was the true heart of the film. Showing how two total opposites can battle and yet in the end come to some sort of mutual tolerance. Maybe, some people will have both laughed and learned from this movie. This movie is an original masterpiece!!! I have not seen the DVD but I have watched this film over million times since I the first time I had set eyes on it back in 1993. Ed O'Neil plays the hardworking, white-collar boyfriend who tries to befriend his girlfriend's son through a series of comical events. The story takes an unexpected twist (I won't say where)and what was a mile-high ride settles back into reality. I really thought this movie was awesome and being a fan of "Married With Children" you get to actually see O'Neil do something a little different, on the lighter side. If you liked the original "Home Alone" genre you don't want to miss this one!!!!Movie Review: Be patient!

This is a good movie that takes awhile to develop. If you don't sit through the obnoxious son showing how bad he is, then you will miss his transition to a pretty good kid. Dutch is what he is a blue collar guy that although hard nosed, has a heart of gold. This is one of those roadtrips that shows the seemy side of life and the school of hard knocks. Good family entertainment. I recommend for rental first. It may not suit all tastes.Movie Review: "Great Holiday Film!"

of Ed's best. This dvd has good picture and sound plus the trailer
and tv spots. I recommend this great holiday film.
