Movie Review: All I can say is.........it's ABOUT TIME!
Summary: 5 Stars
I've been waiting for this version to come out for a very long time now, having had the extended version on LaserDisc for some time now. It'll still be nice to see a well put-together extended version on DVD, complete with menus and all the other niceties. I only hope this isn't going to be some sort of "remix" that loses some of the goodies along the way.
I await with much anticipation for this release, and really hope they do it up right.

"Play USA" is reporting a new release date for Dune on DVD of July 26th 2005!!!
Most likely there will be no involvement from David Lynch, as was stated by the director on a live web-chat interview a few weeks back. Keep an eye out for the pre-order option to return on this product soon (I hope)!

I had been waiting for the release for this movie for years and I'm so glad is out and it's AWESOME.
A definately great buy if you always like Dune. The effects of course are old but you have to give them credit, the movie was made in the 80's. They show a lot of deleted scenes and it gives you the option of the theatrical version or the new extended edition. The packaging is great, it's like a tin can.

According to TheDigitalBits.com, the reason for the delay of the Dune: Extended DVD is that David Lynch decided that he wanted to be a part of the DVD after all! This all means that the DVD will eventually come out. I know that everyone was disappointed about the supposed "cancellation" of the DVD. But,hopefully, it will be worth the wait to see a possible interview/commentarie with Lynch and maybe even a true directors edition.Movie Review: Come on now

I love this movie soooooo much. When i was about 5 i would sneak and watch it on Disney late night in the living room. No matter what a lot of people say, for the time it was made it is a very beautiful movie. I'm in the middle of actually reading it for the first time and am shocked at how close the movie comes to the book in some areas, but of course i haven't finished so i guess ill see.
