Movie Reviews of Dumb and DumberMovie Review: Immensely Hilarious, Entertaining, and Re-watchable Summary: 5 Stars
I feel a bit immature awarding a crude Jim Carrey comedy titled "Dumb and Dumber" five stars, but I believe that it deserves every bit of it. Written and directed by the Farrelly Brothers, whose other works include Kingpin, Me Myself and Irene, There's Something About Mary, and Stuck On You, are more than just comedic directors. It is obvious that they have much knowledge of other films and pop culture, along with camera techniques and characters. The average critic would say that "Dumb and Dumber" made them laugh, but exceeded by going sometimes too far. One must remember why films were made in the first place; to make us laugh, entertain us, and make us want to come back for more. "Dumb and Dumber" exceeds with flying colors.
Movie Review: A HILARIOUS LAUGHTER 5 Stars
THIS MOVIE IS HILARIOUS. IT NEVER GETS OLD. IT GETS FUNNIER EVRY TIME YOU"L WACHT IT. A FUNNY PART IS WHEN THE BIRD DIES AND OTHER FUNNY PARTS WATHCH THIS MOVIE YOU"L LOVE Review: Best Comedy of All Time! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie cracks me up every time I see it! Jim Carrey plays Lloyd Christmas, a limo driver who has just dropped off his dream woman at the airport to fly to aspen. When she leaves her briefcase at the terminal Lloyd decides to drive all the way to aspen with his buddy Harry Dunn (Jeff Daniels). The rest of the movie follows their adventures as they travel across the United States.Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were born for these roles. The script is fantastic. There is never a dull moment or a lull in the hilarity that surrounds these guys lives. Each time I watch this movie I find something new and funny. Don't let the script fool you, this is a very good comedy, in fact, it is my favorite movie of all time! Buy it, you'll be sure to love it!
Movie Review: "Kick his ass, Sea Bass!" Summary: 5 Stars
It is great background lines like the one titling this review that escape the one-time viewer of Dumb and Dumber. I've seen this movie at least 15 times (it held cult status among me and my housemates in college) and I always find something I missed in this deceptively smart comedy. Often, the humor I missed in previouse viewings was a result of the quick and subtle delivery, leaving me feeling a little dumb for having missed it! Yes, the film is a "no-brainer" but if you do apply a little brain, you'll see the genious. You may even find yourself quoting lines from this film with your fellow d&d fans ("we're really doing though, aren't we buddy!" came up when I got engaged!). Life's too serious, sit down and laugh a while.
Movie Review: Classic Summary: 5 Stars
I remember when my family watched this movie for the first time, my younger brother was laughing so hard at the toilet scene (with the turbo-lax) that at first he was paralyzed; he couldn't move. He was literally on the floor.
I liked that scene, as well as some of the less obvious lines, that required you to be paying attention. Is it just me, or was Jeff Daniels funnier than Jim Carrey in lots of scenes? Like when they are fighting over the briefcase by the lake, and Jeff Daniels looks at Jim Carrey and starts laughing.. great expression! And at a black-tie social.. "nice set of hooters you got there!"
Anyway, you know this movie is a classic when 15 years later they are still comparing new comedies to this one.
