Movie Reviews of Dumb and Dumber

Movie Review: Like he does in most of his movies, Jim Carrey is great
Summary: 5 Stars

Ace Venture will always be my favorite, but this fantastic comedy movie is awesome. Everything is funny. In this movie, Lloyd (played by Jim Carrey) and his friend Harry (Jeff Daniels) are traveling to Aspen, California. This reason is because a lady, named Mary (Lauren Holly), left her briefcase at an airport. Also, Lloyd has a crush on her, despite him and Harry losing their jobs. Along the way, many funny things happen. Lloyd admits that he sold Harry's headless, dead bird to a blind boy in a wheelchair (my favorite part). Lloyd said he "fixed" it by taping the head back on. In Pennsylvania, they get busted for speeding on the highway. The copper then spots four filled beer bottles, which are not filled with beer. They are filled with, well, something very gross. The cop ends up drinking it and throws up. For any comedy fan, definently.

Movie Review: Dumb and Dumber
Summary: 5 Stars

Lloyd and Harry are two lovable and friendly, but very stupid friends, who struggle with every aspect of life. Working as a limo driver, Lloyd drops off the beautiful Mary at the airport and instantly falls in love with her. Watching Mary through a window, Lloyd witnesses her leave her case behind. Grabbing her case, Lloyd is too late, but soon thinks of the next best thing. Dragging Harry with him, Lloyd heads off to Aspen to deliver her personally the case. However, Holly isn't the only person after the case, as a pair of criminals are after the same case. From beginning to end, Dumb & Dumber is sheer funny. "Dumb and Dumber" takes a good story, adds some tear-inducing comedy, some endlessly hilarious dialogue, and molds it into one of the funniest movies. It's a hilarious comedy and the two stars perfectly casted.

Movie Review: Wait a minute... what was all this one-in-a-million talk?
Summary: 5 Stars

Dumb & Dumber is, by far, the greatest movie to quote when just having a good time with friends. This movie was meant to be dumb, but it was done in a clever way. Unlike other Farrelly movies such as Black Sheep and Tommy Boy (which I can understand are painful due to terrible writing, acting, everything), Dumb & Dumber keeps you anticipating the next big laugh through out the movie. The plot holds up more than well, as there aren't any unnecessary crappy scenes (except for Lloyd's dream... just odd). Daniels and Carrey just feed off each other which is perfect. The timing, the writing, the acting... for a slapstick comedy that isn't supposed to be a Shawshank Redemption type movie (though it's one of my favorites), everything is perfect.

If you don't like this one, you don't have a personality.

Movie Review: Grossly smart
Summary: 5 Stars

The title had turned me off (not to mention the jacket's picture) untill someone I trusted recommended this film to me. Watching it again on DVD, I found it even funnier. Carry and Daniels mix like gin and tonic, they work together to create funny situations where others would find it uphill. A road picture has the advantage of keeping things always mooving along (Dumb and Dumber goes from Rhode Island to Aspen Colorado), and to this concoction add suspense, intrigue, romance (of a kind) and insanity reigns! The script is cleverly crafted and there is no profanity (isn't that a change), the direction (Peter Farley) is smooth as Jumbo jet 4 point landing. Impressive film - still not everyone will find this film funny, but from the box office smash that it was, most did.
