Movie Reviews of Dumb and DumberMovie Review: This isn't a really deep movie Summary: 5 Stars
This film still makes me laugh out loud. It's a comic road movie by the Farrelly brothers, and probably their best movie to date. Two [people] are driving from Rhode Island to Denver with a brief case belonging to a woman that one of them drove to the airport. They don't know whats in the case, and both of them end up falling in love with the woman. Okay, so that synopsis doesn't say too much, but I really don't want to give anything away. If you like [disgusting] movies (I love the "Turbo-Lax Tea" part) then this is highly recommend this film. If you hate [disgusting] movies, don't bother. As for the discs special features; commentary would have been nice, as would a decent featurette. At least you get a nice widescreen transfer and good sound. The gallery is pretty pointless though. Still, that doesn't matter too much as the film is good enough to not really need any extras to sell it.
Movie Review: The Jim Carrey Show (guest-starring Jeff Daniels) Summary: 5 Stars
Harry and Lloyd (Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey) are bosom buddies and undoubtedly the two most stupid human beings on the face of the earth. They get involved in a kidnap-for-ransom scheme that prompts them to undertake a cross-country drive to Aspen, Colorado. Along the way, there are plenty of comic episodes. Although Jeff Daniels is great, Jim Carrey really carries this movie. He is absolutely incredible. I suppose that every generation needs its own Jerry Lewis, but Carrey out-Jerry-Lewises the original. His energy, flexibility, and unerring instinct for the madcap are quite amazing, and I think that future generations will remember him as a great comedian. Check out the fight scene in the restaurant, for example, and notice how many long, unbroken shots comprise it. This film is lowbrow to be sure, but it cracks me up every time. What more can you really ask from a comedy?
Movie Review: The most boring movie I have ever seen I prefer the sequel Summary: 5 Stars
why do people consider this movie a classic it's horrible crude comedy that makes the worst comedians out there trying to make it big just nod their heads in shame. Honestly this was Carry's worst movie and he's not even that good at acting I can do better by just setting a camera down on the table, pressing play and do some stupid [...] like knock down a flower base and even that's funny in comparison to this hideous piece of junk not worth one penny. Now, the sequel there's a movie that made me laugh the whole time it was just so hilarious thank god they didn't take carry or daniels to play as their youthful selfs, their too old and the cameras arnt that good at concealing aging features. This movie is just horrible and the plot didn't make any sense I strongly urge everyone to check out the second part that one is ACTUALLY funny not this one pass it up
Movie Review: Years of laughter to be expected Summary: 5 Stars
Forget all the editorial reviews by the so called professionals, this movie is hilarious, and there is nothing they can say, or write to deny this fact. My colleagues and I enjoy playing wav files from the movie that you can download from the WEB. When someone does something stupid, all of a sudden, one of my co-workers will fire off a wav file perfect for the ocassion. In addition, I have not found one person that does not enjoy this movie. ALl you have to say is one line from the movie and everyone around will know exactly what movie it is from, and a conversation begins. I truly suspect I will enjoy this movie year after year. Jim Carrey is truly one of the most talented actors alive today and though he may not deserve an Oscar for this performance, his Liar Liar performance should have put him in the running. The Academy should get a life.
Movie Review: Best Carrey movie Summary: 5 Stars
I have to be honest - I'm not a big fan of Jim Carrey (or the Farelly brothers, for that matter). Other than this film, his only other watchable film is Liar Liar - which is only worthy of 3 stars. I must say, however, that I haven't laughed as hard as I have while watching this film. I often wondered how a guy like Jeff Daniels, who isn't exactly known for being a comic, could be so hilarious in a relatively new genre (for him, that is). But the chemistry between Lloyd (Carrey) and Harry (Daniels) is only comparable to that of Beavis & Butthead - they complement each other perfectly. It is mainly this chemistry that makes this film so funny. I can't imagine anyone's (anyone under 30, that is) comedy collection being without this film. It is one of my favorite movies, and I would certainly say that it's the best movie Carrey ever made.
