Movie Review: Totally Funny Movie!!
Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is Drop Dead funny! I laughed myself silly. Kirstie Alley and Kirsten Dunst got the accent down perfectly which made it doubly funny. Where this movie was back in the 1998 I don't know because I never heard of it but it's a killer (no pun intended). I'm originally from Wisconsin and live in Texas now - Minnesota sounds suspiciously like our northern neighbors and had me in stitches! The storyline was pretty good but the characters are what carried the show. If you haven't seen this one, you're missing a tongue-in-cheek look at a beauty pageant that will live in infamy for all time. No one should miss that trailer park explosion!Movie Review: I know what some of your big-city, no-bra-wearin', hairy-legged women's libbers might say.

If you laughed at the title of my review check out this movie. It is one of my favorite quotes from the movie.
This however is not a movie for everyone. This is a dark, politically incorrect comedy. There are some obvious laughs like a girl singing, "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" and dancing with a life size Jesus on the cross.
It has a great cast but the best is Allison Janney as Loretta, Annette and Amber Atkins neighbor. However Kirstie Alley as the slightly insane stage mother is just great.
Like I said not for everyone but if you do like this movie you will want to watch it over and over again.

I can't understand how such a wonderful film could remain relatively obscure. I saw it on a whim and now I can't recommend it enough. This film is hilarious, ridiculous, and very moving all at once. There are fine performances all around but Kirsten Dunst is absolutely amazing. In what would at first seem to be a simple spoof of a beauty pageant, she made me care what happened to her character. Along with the very funny main plot is a touching view of small town life and the desperation to escape it. My only regret about this movie is that I did not discover it sooner. This was a funny satire type movie that kept me laughing and entertained throughout. It stars Kirsten Dunst as Amber, a young hopeful girl who is entering a beauty pageant. The movie also stars Kirstie Alley, Allison Janney, Denise Richards and Ellen Barkin. Alley plays Gladys, mother of Becky (who is also entering the pageant). The movie is funny from start to finish, very over the top in terms of humor, but it's hilarious. Almost every scene has something funny, or very subtle that you need to pay attention to in order to catch on. A Great family film! The cast is great and it is so funny. In this movie Kirsten Dunst is a teenager trying to be a beauty queen. But she is running against Denise Richards whose mother (Ally) will do anything for her daughter to win even kill. This movie might sound stupid but it makes sense and is hilarious.Kristen Dunst is great, Denise Richards delivers, Kristy Ally coulnt be any more laugh out loud funny. These are reviews I would give for the talented Actress's that participated in this movie. And you might find some more stars you know in this movie. Please buy this movie it is a classic!
