Movie Review: pleasantly surprised
Summary: 5 Stars
I watched this movie on TV and was pleasantly surprised. I was glad to see it done in German, 'real' German. My mother is a Dresden survivor and has pictures of it before it was bombed from when she lived there. I was there as a teenager in 1970 and my sister was there for the raising of the cross on the Frauenkirche in 2005. This movie was quite well done and I would watch it again. The big test will be when my mother watches it.Movie Review: Terrific Production - looks like a 100 million-dollar movie!

I got to see part of "Dresden" while in Germany last year and was very impressed with its authenticity and devotion to detail. I know that some of the effects were digitally accomplished, but the acting and sets were terrific, too. My German isn't the best, so I'm looking forward to purchasing the DVD set, which will be subtitled in English. I understand that there will be some great DVD "extras" about the making of the movie, too.Movie Review: Highly Recommended

Having enjoyed watching Dresden on the History Channel, I was thrilled to find out that it was already available on DVD. Its portrayal was so realistic that it made me want to find out more on this topic. Looking forward to seeing the bonus features, which I'm sure will add to my appreciation of this amazing production. Definitely recommended. WOW! I am so glad I bought this movie. Well produced, good to the finish, great historical perspective. Dresden was a sad moment for US action in
WW2....the movie leaves the Americans out of the bombing,which it should not have done...as we came in the next day with bombers and
mustangs that shot innocents too. Great Movie, I'm sharing it with all my family and friends so we all learn.

An excellent movie that captures the horror, conflict, and destruction of war. I had never heard of John Light before, but he was awesome. Same is true for Felicitas Woll. German speakers will love it and non-German speakers will find it equally enthralling, although the subtitles aren't always entirely accurate.
