Movie Reviews of Dragon's World: A Fantasy Made RealMovie Review: A realisitc alternative evolution for the entire family Summary: 5 Stars
Dragons! No other creature has fascinated the ancient cultures of the world. Nearly every primitive civilization had legends about these magnificent reptiles (or animals similar to them, such as winged snakes, basiliks, salamanders, and pedulas), and some of them are very similar, even though they were "made up" by cultures that were so far apart that they could never have had a public conference with one another. And here's my best guess why: those legends weren't joking.
Now, the folks at Framestore have brought the strangest animal ever to set foot in peoples minds to life. This movie asks these questions: If dragons were flesh and blood creatures, then how could they have flown? How did they breathe fire? Why did they die out? Did they encounter dinosaurs? (That is true dinosaurs; the word dinosaur wasn't described until the 1840s. What wre the teriible lizards called before then? Dragons!)
Unlike most other alternative evolutions on mythical beats, this one was as realistic as it could get. The large amounts of detail on the digitally created dragons made them look as if they were real animals, being filmed by today's naturalists.
Although the film was rated PG for mild violence I think the film is perfect for the whole family. All the violence is the act of dragons doing what all creatures do best: try to survive.

Fantasy enthusiasts and animal documentary aficionados alike are sure to get a kick from this imaginative blend of adventure and nature special that purports to investigate the discovery of a dragon?s corpse in modern-day Romania. Director Justin Hardy skillfully balances the framing story of a British scientific team that attempts to understand the creature?s unique capabilities (flight, fire breathing) with documentary-style "re-creations" (narrated by The Lord of the Rings? Ian Holm) that explain how dragons evolved since prehistoric times. Stunning CGI effects (members of the visual effects team worked previously on the Walking with Dinosaurs series and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) help make these flashbacks as realistic as possible, but what really sells the premise is the script by Hardy and Charlie Foley (with assistance from acclaimed fantasy author Neil Gaiman), which uses real animal biology and history to present a compelling and plausible case for the existence of these mythological animals. --Paul Gaita
