Movie Reviews of Dragnet 1967 - Season 1

Movie Review: Jack's the man!
Summary: 4 Stars

I love listening to Jack Webb's stacatto, scolding monologues to the criminals he deals with. Watch for Heather Menzies from "The Sound of Music" in one of the episodes. Also, Kent McCord plays a wrongly accused undercover cop in a prelude to his "Adam 12" role. Harry Morgan brings some comic relief as Webb's partner. I like how Friday and Gannon work a different detective division virtually every episode. This isn't what happens in real life, but I'm sure it was done to expose viewers to all the different types of detectives there are in Los Angeles. The DVD transfer is fair, but it's adequate. Awaiting the second season.....

Movie Review: Buy the 2010 product release!
Summary: 4 Stars

Wouldn't play on my machine. I've returned it. Where is the quality control on premium priced products? I've asked for a refund since I don't trust the other copies.

UPDATE:

This product was reissued in 2010 and now plays wonderfully on my machine. Good quality product in 2010. As for the content? If I have to tell you, then you wouldn't understand.

Movie Review: Quality Questions
Summary: 4 Stars

Not commenting on either the quality of the shows or the clarity of the DVDs, which are wonderful, but so many people complained of DVD defects with "Dragnet," "Adam-12," and "Emergency!" it would be interesting to learn what percentage of the DVDs were defective and hear of others' experiences with them.

Movie Review: If you are a Dragnet fan
Summary: 4 Stars

If you are a Dragnet fan, this DVD will remind you why you became one. The segment called "The Big Interrogation" includes the classic "What Is A Cop" monologue by Jack Webb and is worth the price of the whole DVD.

Movie Review: Where are the rest?
Summary: 4 Stars

I would love to have the rest of Jack Webb's series. The other seasons of Dragnet, Emergency, Adam 12. Great TV to watch with the kids.
