Movie Reviews of DraculaMovie Review: Frank Langela is Dracula played in a way no one can duplicate Summary: 5 Stars
I was in the audience to watch the stage & film versions of Dracula, Frank Langella has duplicated his role on film, there was nothing that can tell you how appealing to the audienece this role was played, and to signify this, was to watch the Ladies in the audience litterally pull down their collars and show their want for Dracula to bite them. His elegant moves upon the stage and his eyes, voice and mannerism gave Dracula a New Look a Much Better look to the audience. There was no fear in the audience, but a want for more from a great actor such as Frank langella as only he could play Dracula as it should be played.
Movie Review: A Warning To Non US Viewers Summary: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful film which I love immennsely and consider one of the best Dracula films made with Frank Langella supurb performance,is,however coded by the company to play badly on multi region DVD players.Of the three DVD players I own it will only play properly on one,on another it will only play in black and white and on the third not at all. This is extremely unfair on foreign customers as many of these films will never be released in our countries.I give the film itself five stars but the dirty tactics of the distributor disgust me they are only depriving themselves of custom they won't get otherwise
Movie Review: Scary and Sexy Summary: 5 Stars
Love this creepy film: from the storm-tossed opening scenes, to the horrifying netherworld of the undead under the graveyard, to the final mysterious closeup of Lucy's face. Does she still love Dracula? Or is she relieved to be rid of him? (Who wouldn't prefer the dashing Frank Langella to the sappy Jonathan Harker character?) The only part I didn't like was the red love scene. The movie wouldn't have stalled out so badly if they'd skipped that. Otherwise, what a hammy performance out of Olivier! And Langella! A good time indeed.
Movie Review: Best Dracula Movie Summary: 5 Stars
I was really surprised to see so many people that have a poor opinion of this movie. The movie is dark, because most of the scenes are at night, but I had no doubt it was in color, not black and white. This is my absolutely favorite Dracula movie of all time. I love the castle, I like that Dracula is handsome and sensuous, and I really like the way they unfold the story. To me, this is how the Dracula story should be. This is the one I watch every year at Halloween. I just don't see the things others are complaining about.
Movie Review: Dracula, staring Frank Langella Summary: 5 Stars
This is by far in my opinion, the sexiest Dracula retelling on the market! Frank Langella just nails the role as the disturbingly hypnotic Count Dracula. He has fleshed out the character so well, that you actually root for him to escape with his new bride and let the villagers be damned.
There is maybe just one scene where I think things were a bit campy (Dracula smashing a mirror in front of Van Helsing) but beyond that, an elegant telling of the tale. An excellent DVD to add to your collection of monster movie.
