Movie Reviews of Dr. T & The Women

Movie Review: Perfect Altman - not for everybody.
Summary: 5 Stars

I'll be very brief. This movie is as Altman-ish as it can be - that's it, end of story. If you don't like Altman or don't know who Robert Altman is, then I suggest you keep watching your beloved Adam Sandler and stop wasting your time writing these reviews. For all Altman fans - IT IS A GREAT MOVIE! Absolutely on par with The Player or Short Cuts, but then again, I like all his movies without exceptions. I added this DVD to my collection without any hesitation and I recommend it to any Altman fan.

Movie Review: Simply Fantastic!
Summary: 5 Stars

Laughed the entire movie! Little too much with the women, but Gere is Fantastic!

Movie Review: Farrah in a fountain
Summary: 4 Stars

Early on in the movie, Farrah strips all of her clothes off and dances around in a huge fountain at the mall, baring it all. Come on, that's worth the price of the DVD (and the DVD player) alone, even if our former Angel is a little, ehum, past her prime. Seriously, I can't believe all the bad reviews. I thought it was cute with some deep stuff. Not all together believable at times, but the cast was great, the plot funny but a little light, and I enjoy watching it about once a month. Dr. T is Dallas' leading gynocologist and of course all of the women in town are in love with him, his patients, his office manager, everyone, though wife Farrah cracks up and ends up in the nuthouse because, apparently, her life has been so perfect she loses her mind. Apart from the fountain scene, Farrah is hardly in it. Dr. T has to deal with nutty broads after him, romances Helen Hunt and has to deal with nut-case daughter's wedding. I thought it was funny and cute with a few serious moments. Nothing great, but it did not drag and I liked it alot. Don't forget, Farrah all nude in a fountain.

Movie Review: So shoot me, I liked it!
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm out of sync with the world on some of the later Altman films. While I liked `Cookie's Fortune' less than most folks, I liked this more. Funny, sweet, and about as good as Richard Gere has ever been. The last 20 minutes are indeed a mixed bag. However, personally I liked the symbolic, surreal ending, even if some of the plot twists leading up to it felt clunky, and didn't make a lot of sense.

But the bottom line is, this is certainly more original and thought-provoking than most modern movies. And that's enough to win a lot of brownie points from me
