Movie Review: I Like Van Damme!
Summary: 4 Stars
So there! My favorites are Time Cop and Sudden Death. It appears that the negative customer reviews are coming from people who viewed this one on VHS. If you don't like action films, so be it. I gave up on going to theaters with the prices they charge, the people who like to gab a lot and make candy and popcorn noises. Watching films like this on DVD, letterboxed, on a screen three feet wide, complete with digital surround can make a lot of difference. Granted, not everyone has room for or even wants a lot of audio/video equipment, but it's the closest you can get to the "director's product" without going to a theater. I've seen this film twice at home, and today I am ordering a copy for my collection. Movies like this come in handy when I'm in the mood for something loud, action-filled, mindless, and all those good things! I have found over the past few years that Wide Screen Review is an extremely trustworthy source for information about sound and picture of laser discs and DVDs, and they rate this a double 5! An interesting teaming of Rodman & Van Damme. Rodman being the casually dangerous Arms Dealer with an unseemly fetish for body piercing, tatoo and other forms of pain. Oh, not too mention his Hypercolor hair & synthetic (literally) dress sense. Van Damme, playing the Super 007, who fails to take out the mastermind bad-guy, but then comes back from the dead to save his family (Awww, how sweet, and yet so unpredictable.) If you like seeing bullets, bikes, bad haircuts and bombs, then this movie is for you. If you are looking for a serious Van Damme flick then steer clear.Movie Review: Action Packed Movie!

Although this movie wasn't nominated for an Academy Award it was still a good movie.Van Damme's pursuit of Mickey Rourke made for some good action sequences. Van Damme's escape from the secret island was also very unique. I also liked Dennis Rodman's role as an arms dealer. He still needs acting lessons. Van Damme's battle to find his lost wife and child also added to the plot. The fight sequence with the martial arts expert was very good. The ending of the movie was also action packed. His battle with Micker Rourke was better than I expected. All in all a good movie.Movie Review: Cool movie, but not the best action film, but the mote fun.

Not the best action movie made in the U.S. by a Hong Kong director, but not worst on the other hand. Jean-Claude Van Damme plays a covert agent or wath ever who is set to this top-secret island facility called "the colony" were he escapes, then hunts down a terrorist (Mickey Rourke) with the help of a weapons expert (Dennis Rodman), and the film goes on and on and on. The best scene is with Van Damme fighting Xiong Xin-Xin. This film is does something, but it is too hard to say in words. 1997. RCA. 93 MINS.
Rated R for Nonstop Action Violence.
Movie Review: It wasn't that bad the second time around.

I just watched Double Team for the second time. Although I don't care for Van Damme personally, he is a great action movie actor. Although the reason I rented it again was because of Mickey Rourke. I don't watch his movies because of his acting, because we all know that stinks, but he's great eye candy. lol But to get back on the topic, I thought that Rodman was so funny in this movie, not much of an actor, but a geat sense of humor. And that's all I have to say about that.
