Movie Reviews of Don't Say a Word

Movie Review: Excellent!
Summary: 4 Stars

When a psychologist's (Michael Douglas) daughter is abducted. He must negotiate with the kidnappers on opening up the mind of a disturbed mental patient who knows the location to the 'treasure' they are after. It is up to Douglas to use his skills to get inside her head before his daughter gets it!

Despite many familarites with other abduction films, Don't Say A Word is, itself an entertaining movie with great performances throughout. Douglas still hasn't lost his acting talent and manages to pull off the psychologist's role successfully. Although a slightly predictable and happy ending ensue we expect it and if one watches the film we can accept it.

Overall, very entertaining film throughout.

Movie Review: A fun thriller
Summary: 4 Stars

The first time I watched "don't say a word" I didn't realy like it. then I went out and rented it again and thought it was great. The second time around I noticed things that I didn't notice the first time. This led me to understand and appreciate the movie. Don't say a word is a clever thriller with a great cast and stylish directing. It did seem a little bit riddiculous at times, but it had some clever plot twists. Overall "Don't say a word is a winner."

Movie Review: Good movie
Summary: 4 Stars

This movie is very entertaining. It has action, suspence, and violence.

Michael Douglas plays a man whose daughtor is kidnapped. His occupation is that he works with people who neem special help. When his daughtor is kidnapped, the kidnappers hold her ransom. He has a certain patient that has a number inside her head. The kidnappers say that they will give his daughtor back if he can find out that special number.

Michael Douglas, Famke Janssen, and Oliver Platt all give solid performances, but the highlight of this movie is defiantly Brittany Murphy. She does an amazing job as the patient.

If you want to go see a good movie, go see Don't Say a Word. You wont be disapointed.

Movie Review: Watch Brittany Murphy for Future
Summary: 4 Stars

The #1 reason for watching this movie is discovering young actress Brittany Murphy who is outstanding as Michael Douglas's psychiatric patient. In order to save his own daughter's life, Douglas must discover a number that is locked inside this patient's brain. That number will lead to the recovery of a fabulous jewel. Douglas's and Murphy's scenes together are all terrific. The rest of the movie is a rather conventional Hollywood thriller about good guy Douglas sweating bullets under the demands of bad guy Sean Bean and how Douglas will save the day and triumph over Bean. It's a night's entertainment and I enjoyed it. I can't imagine wanting to own my own copy though.

Movie Review: Can't Say Enough
Summary: 4 Stars

This was an intense movie. The premise is frightening - that a professional's child would be kidnapped by a ruthless criminal not for ransom but in order to force the doctor to extract information from a patient. Both Michael Douglas and Brittany Murphy give riveting performances.

Sean Bean is convincingly evil, but I thought the wife and daughter were a little too "together" for the intensity of the situation. Although the focus was on Douglas, Jennifer Esposito did a good job as the police detective just a step behind, and Oliver Platt is delightfully seedy as the psychiatrist who brings his colleague Douglas in on the case.
