Movie Reviews of Don't Say a Word

Movie Review: A suspense thriller for adults
Summary: 5 Stars

`Don't Say a Word' stars Michael Douglas as Nathan Conrad and Sean Bean as Patrick Koster. Koster is a desperate jewel thief, just released from prison, who kidnaps Conrad's 8-year old daughter Jessie. Conrad is forced to use all his skills as a psychologist to get through to a new catatonic patient (Brittany Murphy) in order to rescue Jessie while running against the clock. This story is full of twists and flashbacks and is action-packed from start to finish. Strong performances from Famke Janssen (Aggie) as the bedridden wife, Jennifer Esposito as the intuitive police detective and Oliver Platt as a fellow psychologist and blackmail victim.

Movie Review: Awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

I would just like to say that ALL of the people in this movie did an AWESOME job. Brittany Murphy is just a VERY brilliant and talented actress. She can play EVERY role you give her. If you saw her in Clueless and then saw this movie you wouldn't think it were the same girl. I saw it two times and next weekend I am going back for a third time. The gross parts are gross the first time, but when you see it a second time, they aren't as sick. This definetly tops the charts on my favorite movies list and its definetly a great movie for people who love action thrillers and even for the people that don't

Movie Review: Fantastic DVD- average movie
Summary: 5 Stars

I have given this DVD 5 stars because it contains the greatest collection of special features I have ever seen. It is a whole master class on film production, including screen tests, storyboards, lots of commentaries, dailies, a set tour, etc.

The movie itself is a fairly average thriller, with some interesting moments. The bright spot is Brittany Murphy whose performance as a severly disturbed young woman is extremely well done. I must say, Sean Bean is one of my favorite villains. And any chance to hear his voice with that adorable accent is welcome.

Movie Review: Not at all what I was expecting
Summary: 5 Stars

I went into the theather expecting this to be a long, drawn out psychological thriller, but Don't Say a Word seemed more reminiscent of an action flick, and I loved it anyway.

Micheal Douglas plays a psychologist, the father of a young girl who is kidnapped. But the ransom is anything but ordinary. There's a patient in a psych ward with a 6 digit number buried in her head, and he needs to get it out.

This movie was as emotionally taxing as physically. I think it would be loved by action and drama viewers alike.

Movie Review: Nail Biting Thriller
Summary: 5 Stars

This show was incredible! I was trembling through the whole thing. Michael Douglas was awesome, and every other actor or actress was as well. At first, I didn't know if I could get through the sometimes disturbing scenes - not for the weak of heart. But it was something I couldn't stop watching, and the sequence of events in the show led up to a great climax. I know it's one of my favorites when as soon as I get home from the theatre, I fire up Amazon.com and pre-order it for when it is released on a DVD!
