Movie Reviews of Donovan's Reef

Movie Review: Under appreciated John Wayne
Summary: 5 Stars

The most fun movie John Wayne ever made. Amazing landscape shots of Hawaiian islands. This movie technically qualifies as a Christmas movie. Story line begins on the 7th of December and ends at Christmas. Part romantic comedy this family fun film can be appreciated by all ages. Play drinking game using character names and action shots (fights, breaking bottles, etc.).

Movie Review: The Duke in paradise.
Summary: 5 Stars

A great DVD for this classic movie. The movie demands widescreen and it got it. The extras are good, but the movie is the winner. If you want to feel good after watching a movie, this is one to put in the DVD player.

Memorable DVD moments are the valley of the monument, the three kings and the princess' parade. Great acting, great scenery and great fun!

Movie Review: Great Christmas Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

Didn't know that? Most reviews don't mention it, but Christmas is central to the plot. Fine comedic performances by John Wayne, Lee Marvin and Cesar Romero. The Taming of the Shrew in a tropical setting. OK, so that's an outdated [thankfully] male-female plot-line. Bite your tongue on those scenes and enjoy the rest.

Movie Review: Donovan's Reef
Summary: 5 Stars

This John Wayne movie is full of excitement. There is a little romance, some good fights and yet a lesson to be learned about acceptance of those who are a little different then you are. It also shows the value of forgiveness so a family can be a family again. I like the light hearted feeling and music in this movie.

Movie Review: Wonderful Movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a good comedy to watch when you want to smile and feel good. It was directed by John Ford and stars John Wayne with Lee Marvin; Dorothy Lamour, Elizabeth Allen and Cesar Romero. The scenery is beautiful and the script is warm, funny and witty.

It has a charming, uplifting, family appropriate theme.
