Movie Review: An Absolute Educational Gem
Summary: 5 Stars
Whether you LOVED baby Einstein or have never seen it, you will love Little Einsteins! Even if you Hate most Disney you will LOVE this!! This is a wonderful change from the negitve problems (and reactions) that so many toddler tv shows teach today. There is no violence, no yelling, no "bad" kid with bad habits, no arguing, no rude behaviors like farting, or any of the other things just make toddler tv shoes so repulsive.
This show is a wonderful combination of Facts, education, imagination and FUN. A group of 4 children (mixing different races, genders, interests, and siblings) work together (along with their rocket) to solve a problem..Int he first half they have to get the little caterpillar to his tree so he can undergo metamorphasis, in the second half they have to help him migrate to mexico (as it's a monarch.)
This series covers everything, from visiting national landmarks, and other well known sites around the world, to teaching science and nature.
They use Large words (they don't assume a child is stupid), they teach the meaning of the word and use it throught the episode. (ex: instead of "big" they may use "enourmous")
Each of the 4 children are interested in a different "Art" (conducting, playing instruments, singing, and dancing.)
Each episode features 2-4 different art pieces from masters such as monet, to unknown artists like native american weavings. They each also feature one piece of classical music which is used IN the story, as are the paintings. Hearing the classical music as a bird singing, or walking into a painting is a great way to help children learn that music and art tell stories, and learn to appreciate them.
Mainly it uses animation with a mix of beautiful, real world natural fotage!!! It is all done in an interactive format (remmineceint of Dora and blues clues) so your child isn't just sitting their zombified, but gets exceited and interested in the show.
The best part however is the immagination added to the show, within all the factual information your child is learning they are, as well seeing wonderful things that may not wholey be possible but are sure fun which encourages children to think freely. Why can't their be an ocean of instruments??
Instead of letting your child spend 30 minutes watching a clown look for her other shoe or a ball and his dog look for their BALL, but would enjoys something interesting this is for you and your child. If your child wants to watch tv, turn it off and pop this in!!
This video is a cultural masterpeice..the only problem is there is only THIS ONE on dvd/video!!! Please release more in the series!!!
