Movie Review: The Live Rock!
Summary: 5 Stars
This DVD rocks! Mark Knopfler does very heavy metal on "Heavy Fuel". Even "The Bug" is on this live DVD! "Walk Of Life" he does
perfect on this version and "Money for Nothing" is a pure hard
rock classic that you will need to listen to on the CD! But I rather get the CD in addition to the DVD! But where the heck is
Sting singing 'I WANT MY MTV'? "Calling Elvis" is a bit to long
and the other version is slight ly better!
Oveall great DVD!
Movie Review: Our Favorite concert for years

We have enjoyed Dire Straits concert "ON The Night" since 1994, on laser disc. (Alchemey since '95). Laser discs might have been a failed experiment, but the concerts were wonderful to watch. A big screen tv, some good speakers, and everyone who saw them were wowed. We bought the dvd to share with others. This is our favorite show. The mix of high energy songs with the mellower ballads is perfect. And Mark Knopfler is a thrill to watch. Enjoy!Movie Review: Dire Straits on the Night DVD

This is great guitar and band rock and roll at its best. The venue is a large outdoor stadium that is packed. I did not have any problem with the 2.o sound, it was just as good as 5.1 surround sound to me. I give this one a five star rating even thought it does not have Sultans of Swing. The other songs especially Heavy Fuel more than make up for this. This is an excellent concert DVD well worth the purchase.Movie Review: Awesome high energy concert - great sound and set selection!

This is one of my favorite concert DVDs. Even though there are no audio setup selections the sound is fantastic!
Mark Knopfler (lead singer and composer) really lacks animation in contrast to the rest of the group, but the concert is lively just the same.
Lighting is amazing - visuals and close ups are excellent.
The only way it could be better is with Blu ray and 5.1 audio perhaps.

After listening to Dire Straits for years it was really exciting for them to release their live CD on DVD so you could actually see the band performing. Mark Knopler is a guitar genius, one of the best there is. Ever heard the recording he did with country legend Chet Atkins? Well Chet is good but I think Mark shows more talent. This is a great DVD and if you enjoy Dire Straits, it's like dessert.
