Movie Reviews of Dinotopia (TV Miniseries)Movie Review: Hot stuffing. Summary: 5 Stars
This is a hot movie like jurassic park with talking dinos. Its a shame they dont have giganotosaurus. Well 3 people crash land on a contenet dinotopia with a water fall city as a capital. So they meet a young girl and find proffesor Zippo(Segnosaurus). they discover a sunstone is the key to let dinotopia live. they get separated and Carl goes to a hatchery where he gets a female protoceratops wich he named 26. while David goes to canyon city and learns to fly with high flyers(not pteranodons)I think. a fellow discovers Zippos wonders are correct and tries to help him but he is also a thief. But david and carl reunite and go with the guy while the princess and zippo have to stay on land. the sunstone power in water fall city is failing and canyon citys people besides flyers have all died by pteranodons...
Movie Review: DinoMyte! Summary: 5 Stars
I have never been a big fan of dinosaur movies, (I hated Jurrasic Park), but this I loved. This dvd has terrific scenery, and I loved the interplay between the characters. I didn't care for Carl much at first- he steals and cheats a good bit- but later, when he takes charge of 26, his darling little Saurian partner, his better nature emerges. I could sympathize with David, being sent to the Skyback Core when he seemed to have no flair for flying. Kids are always a little confused when they are told to do something they don't seem to be good at. I loved Zippo most of all! There were so many unanswered questions when the series ended. Is Crabb still alive? What about Marian? Is she in love with both of the brothers? And will Romana Dennison emerge as a possible love interest? Can't wait for the TV series!
Movie Review: Great movie!! Summary: 5 Stars
I truly loved this movie. I watched it (and taped it) when it was on in May, and I loved it so much I rushed out and bought the DVD when it came out. It's a wonderful story of two brothers who end up on the island of Dinotopia. They are total opposites, Karl being a rebel and David being a bookish loner. Karl is assigned to the hatchery, where he takes care of 26, an adorable little chasmosaur, whereas David is assigned to Canyon City to become a Skybax rider. Both boys fall in love with Marion, the daughter of Mayor Waldo. They learn new things on the island and their lives are changed forever. I recommend this movie to any dinosaur fan, and anyone who enjoys brilliant special effects.
Movie Review: Entertainment and symbolic movie, with many levels waiting to be explored Summary: 5 Stars
This is a very entertaining movie, full of wonderful special effects and a consistent narrative, with many sub-plots (explored in the series version, with 13 episodes, although with different artists)going on. This "forgotten land theme", with humans and dinossaurs co-existing, can be explored and interpreted as archaic psychic archetypes: this exercise is more entertaining when done with several people watching the movie. If you only want to watch this movie "just for the fun", and you appreciate "dinossaurs on the flick", you won't be dissapointed. This unique movie has many layers of meaning expected to be explored, just like our multi-dimensional Self.
Movie Review: Dinotopia Summary: 5 Stars
Dinotopia is a 1st class movie and series. A delight to watch. Such a terrible shame the ABC USA decided to scrap them. There is no "blood and guts splatter" in these movies, just good family entertainment. Great animation, the characters really do look like they are interacting with the Dinosaurs. The Dinotopia series continues the high quality viewing, and by buying the series too you will see episodes that never went to air because the plug was pulled half way through. Absolutely Fabulous.
