Movie Reviews of Digimon - The Movie

Movie Review: Digimon Rocks!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been a major fan of Digimon since the beginning. I rarely missed an episode when it was on TV. It's the best!

While I watched the series, I heard a lot of people saying that it was a "Pokemon rip-off". Well, I'll inform you that Digimon is nothing like Pokemon! Pokemon has no character development whatsoever. The storyline is extremely repetitive. I'm sorry if I am insulting Pokemon fans, but this is my opinion of it.

Anyway, back to Digimon.

Digimon has good character development (not only do the kids have personal problems, but they are actually are attached to their personal Digimon). It has a relatively smooth storyline, with everything leading to something new. And the adventures are all different.

Sure, there are some moments where I'm embarrassed by a dorky line, but this show was meant for seven years old and under, and I'm 13. And there are other parts that make me really sad (like at the end of the first season, when the kids are saying good-bye).

I would definitely say that the first season is the best. The second season was good (I loved seeing the original kids at an older age), but the fact that the new Digimon didn't seem as powerful as the original kinda made me lose interest. This movie is also a good addition to the first and second seasons. Watch it! The third season completely lost me, though I found some of the characters intriguing. I probably would have watched it, hoping to understand it more, but that was when the popularity went down and Fox took it off their program. I haven't seen any of the fourth season, and have no desire to. Apparently, in seasons 3 and 4, the kids started digivolving with their digimon, and then doing it completely on their own. That, to me, is really weird.

I would strongly encourage those who are interested in this to watch at least the first season and to go for the second if you want to see a follow-up. They are the best.

Movie Review: way better than pokemon any day!
Summary: 5 Stars

I really liked this movie!! it was awsome!!! here's my review

Digimon the movie is a three part movie. It begins when the digi destind Tai,kari, matt, joey, sora, mimi, izzy etc. well, it's stars with younger tai and kari. One night their computer does something weird and makes a digi egg or whatever it's called. later it hatches a digimon and it keeps evolving. and thats all for this part.

Part 2. It begins with this evil digimon (forgot it's name) causeing a HUGE virus! Tai Izzy and the gang have to stop it before it destroys the whole internet.

Part 3 Its starts off with all the digimon characters includeing, Tai,kari, davis, etc. (no ken) They meet this kid from america (sorry I'm so bad with names) His digimon keeps attacking him because (warning spoiler) the evil digimon virus is inside him and trying to get them to help him. So they all try to defat it.

An thats all the info for now. now for my comments. This movie had alot of action and some comedy! it was funny! Now notice it's rated PG theres a reason. The action is violent and might sacre kids hmmm maybe under 7 I guess. so, yeah.

Now I her that this is another pekemon craze WRONG!!! people say oh digimon is a pokemon copycat again WRONG!!! FYI people digimon came first!! The dub just came out later so take note of that! and now to stop my ranting. anyways this was a freat movie!! way better than pokemon any day! I'm 11 now and still like digimon. yeah I know you think it's insicure for some my age likes digimon but it really isin't. This is a great movie/tv series great for the whole family! The movie and art is great! so buy this! or atleast rent it!

Movie Review: A good addition to an excellent show
Summary: 5 Stars

I prefer the second season of the series, and that is really only because of two characters that unfortunately don't show up in this. But despite that, it is still a wonderful movie. The animation is very different from any of the four series, which can take a bit of getting used to. But it ends up looking pretty good after a short while. The songs are not ones I would have chosen, but I generally let that fade into the background. Gatomon and Terriermon are cool!

Of course, having been made from several OAVs that were chopped up and spliced together (two of the OAVs are missing entirely) there are bound to be plot holes. The company did the best they could to cover up those holes, but is would have been much better if they had released them all as OAVs, like they were originally meant to be seen. As I understand it, their reason for mutilating these OAVs was that some of the characters (namely Ken) had not been introduced yet. Let me rephrase that--he had been introduced, but season 2 had not ended in America at that point and they didn't want to give away any spoilers.

All that aside, it is still a good show and I still think you should watch it. And maybe one day the OAVs will be released into the American market and we'll have a chance to see this as it was supposed to have been seen, as well as the missing pair of OAVs.

Movie Review: Digimon, Digital monsters digimon are the champions.....
Summary: 5 Stars

Digimon:The Movie is an absolute digi thing! It's realy cool. I think that the funnyist part is when Koromon Noom sludges on the floor in Tai's house when Tai and Kary first meet him. Another thing is Davis' crush on Kary! He even tells Willis not to kiss her! When he does at the end, Davis gets realy mad and calls Kary "his girl" and kary says "what do you mean, your girl?"!!! I think that the fight between Greymon(Agumon, Digivolve to!)and the Bird-like digimon is cool! The only attack Greymon(Agumon, Digivolve to!)uses is "Nomar Blaze!". The only attack the Bird uses is "Light Destroyar!"!
Here's a list of all the digimon in the show:
Agumon, Greymon, MetalGreymon, WarGreymon, Gabumon, Patamon, MetalGururumon,Angemon, Angewomon, AngeDramon, Syrothesamon, Gatomon, Veemon (of course!), Flamedramon (The Fire of Courage!), Randramon (The storm of friendship!), Hawkmon, Halsemon (The wing of love!!)Armadillomon, Digmon (The Drill of Power!), KoKomon, Infermon, Karamon, Koromon, Tentomon, Kabutarimon, Terriormon, and ????????. I won't tell you what Terriormon Digivolves into! Anyway, Guildamon (My digimon) has to eat. My advice is to get the movie!! It's HIARIOUS!

Movie Review: A great movie for Digimon fans
Summary: 5 Stars

The digimon movie is composed of three acts which aired separatly in Japan, but are connected together in the North American dub.

The first act takes place 4 years prior to season 01 and is about Taichi(Tai) and Hikari (Kari)'s first encounter with digimon. The second act takes place 7 months after season 01 and is about the battle against a digimon that has somehow hatched on the internet and is causing major disruptions world-wide. The third act does not occur within cannon continuity and has had approximately 30 minutes of material cut from it. It deals with the battle of the 02 chosen(digidestined) and the american chosen, Wallace(Willis), against Wallace's corrupted digimon, Kokomon.

The animation for the movies was done in a different style than that of the anime with the colors being much more muted. Additionally the characters are drawn differently and the attacks are much quicker and more powerful looking than they are in the anime.

Despite the debatable quality of the dub and the unfortunate cutting of some material (most noticable in the third act) I still recomend this movie to any Digimon fan.
