Movie Reviews of Desk SetMovie Review: It's OK but not great. Summary: 3 Stars
The film is enjoyable to a degree - it's always fun watching Tracy and Hepburn act - however, Hepburn's character is so wishy-washy, so "oh, gosh, I'm just a poor lil woman", so,"Oh,my, when am I going to get married?" - this character is the complete opposite of Hepburn's public image and THAT'S why the film is difficult to watch - it's just not in Kate Hepburn's reputation to act like a ninny. However - if you ignore the terrible sexist dialogue the film is "kind of" enjoyable. I bought it cause I wanted my collection complete.
It's also difficult to watch Gig Young portray Hepburn's love interest when in real life Gig Young shot his newly acquired wife to death and then committed suicide.
